spiderman 2 KILLING your pc
Spiderman 2 , not only slows down my whole PC whilst playing it, but once you reach the 30-40 minutes mark it automatically FREEZES the whole computer.
I'm rocking with a 4080 super and a ryzen 7 7800x3d, and God have mercy on people that can't afford a high end pc , because this is becoming a real struggle to enjoy any game these days, as i can tell.
Also, my CPU is reaching temperatures that are way too high, i've never experienced something this poorly made. Last session, my CPU reached 91 celsius, and even post closing the game it wouldn't go down. I had to restart, wich i do it any time i stop playing this game because it seems like it injects itself into the RAM or something, and slows down any other activity i'm trying to do
Btw, one last thing
ALL the games i've played, none have reached a constant 91 degrees, the peak i always had were between the 80s and 85. Mind "peaking" , so not CONSTANT.

Sony should re-consider their doing.

EDIT : The game now gives me 0 issues about overheating , even if i did not tweak ANYTHING.

This game is very CPU dependent and demanding so other games peaking at 80-85c and this being 91c constant is not surprising on a 7800X3D, don’t know what kind of cooling setup u have but 91C is a bit hot and the pc freezing could be related to temps if no other application or games make the cpu reach those temps, id try to stress test the cpu using a stress test app like Furmark or OCCT, and see the stability under those temps, maybe recreate the issue then u can diagnose what it is.

i already have been doing tests, tried other games all squeezed my PC to the max, but none have created this much heat on my system ever. Besides, thanks for the explanation

I'm also on a 7800X3D and the highest I've seen my CPU is mid 70s in this game. Do you still have your iGPU enabled, Maybe this is causing a problem. What cooling do you have for the 7800X3D?

Noctua NH-D15, it's not a liquid cooling system...so

The game might be a cause, I am not sure, but your cooling is not very good in the first place if it is reaching 85C. It is not unsafe territory but not good either.

My 7800X3D is being cooled by a 360 AIO. For me, I'd say thats a little too warm but i don't know much about the tower cooler temps. The V-Cache on the 7800X3D does make it a little toasty at times.
I have the same cooler as you but a 9800X3D CPU and it works just fine. There is literally something wrong at your end. You should have normaln temps 60-80 under full load like a 24H run of prime95. If your chip gets warm from a game like SM2 then God help you running something like prime95, your CPU would get cooked in 10 min then lol

I've not had a CPU hit 90 degrees in many years, turn off your rubbish overclocking perhaps?

I have a 3080, a weaker 5 core cpu than you, and am running the game at 4k with NO issues.

I normally take pity on posts like this, assuming that you don't have much experience with other games and are not used to adjusting the settings to what your pc can handle, but unfortunately this seems plain trolling or idiocy.

Have you even LOOKED at the in-game settings, or did you just assume that the game would run flawlessly with a upper build pc?

PS - The framegen is totally busted, and the ray tracing got a patch but is possibly still busted, and I'll bet you have at least one of those on right now at the very least...

amazing assumption
After the complaining, i don't know exactly what happened , but my CPU now doesn't go over 70c
i didnt tweak any setting
it just happened

Amd cpus were not doing well with this game. Maybe the patch today fixed the issues they were having.
