Frame Generation Seems Strange
Something is up with the implementation of frame gen, for me, it seems. Anyone else having the issue where your FPS slowly dwindles (not a HUGE drop, but all the same) after you've turned on Frame Generation? So then I have to turn FG off and then back on again to get to the higher number.

I'll go from like high 100s for a couple minutes when I first turn it on and then it'll go down to high 80s. So then I turn it off and back on and it's immediately in the 100s - sometimes high 90s - again for another couple minutes. It's not just the FPS display giving the wrong number, because the game does noticeably get faster or slower then.

And while obviously FPS changes according to whatever's going on in the scene, it's not that in this instance.

What's the deal here? ...Is it just another thing we'll have to wait on to get patched?

Turn on monitoring, most likely the load on the video card is dropping
I haven't noticed this on 4070 in this game, but there is a similar problem in witcher 3, if ray tracing is enabled

And if this is the case, what can I do?

Bummer. Was a workaround for it ever discovered to avoid having to turn off ray tracing?

It's either the processor or wait for a patch)
as for witcher, no solution has been found)

Do you know what specifically in regards to the processor it could be possibly?

the processor is just weak) as an option)

Well, it's an i9-13900k.

Just heard this could be a hyperthreading problem so I'll try disabling hyperthreading. It was a workaround for Spider-Man Remastered with CPU bottlenecking.

If it is not difficult) there is also a possibility that the power supply is not powerful enough, and because of the lack of power, the load in the video card is reset.
I highly doubt it’s your cpu or even your power supply as frame gen in this game is really in fact weird and feels choppy unlike other games. Wait for a patch to address this issue and for the meantime I found running AMD’s FSR3.1 frame gen is actually way better in this game and more stable I played throughout the entire game with it and it was fine, so you can use that for the time being

I have the same. Super smooth with FSR 3 on around 120-150 fps. Then after a while super choppy with fps dropping to 50-60. I turn FSR to FG and back and it's good again. I have a i7 8700k with a 4070s. It's just the game I think, don't bother changing anything. FSR is way better in this way less input lag.

Try to use exclusive full screen, ir works for me

I've seen this with all nixes ports. I've never tracked it down. It just keeps dropping after a cutscene (and not everytime either). GPU Load remains 100%. Turning off frame gen post the issue doesn't fix it. Almost like the card gets clogged by something. Closing the game then reopen and the issue is immediately gone. And if you turn off frame gen you'll never get the issue either

Yet play another game with frame gen and you'll never see the issue. It's REALLY weird

Hoping it's fixed when games start to use the AI model for frame gen rather than the optical flow accelerator
I know most people prefer nvidia frame gen to amd but in the Spider-Man games specifically, AMD’s version has been much smoother for me. The two previous games run like butter but when I turn nvidias on I get this weird wobble or slowdown effect when panning the camera. I have a 4090 so technically the dlss version should be a better experience.
