PC Restarts When I Launch the Game
One of my favorite games, excited to play through it on PC but this is one of the worst bugs I've ever seen. Launch the game and before it gets to the main menu my PC just shuts off and restarts. Happens about 50% of the time, very frustrating. Hoping it can be fixed soon. I've definitely had less crashes in game since the latest patch.

Specs:
Intel 13900k, RTX 4090, 64GB RAM, Samsung NVME.

I have the latest Nvidia drivers released on 1/30/25.

Sounds like a temp issue. Have you tried running some tests on your hardware?

Its not a temp issue ran multiple stress tests GPU never hits more then 72c. CPU in Cinebench hits 81c max on a 30min test. I've removed all OC and still same thing. This is the only game that this happens in.
Only game this happens in for me as well. No temp issues in other games.
It's an NVIDIA driver issue, a lot of people are reporting it. It's happening to me as well, but seems somewhat more stable when frame generation is disabled.

It's probably a good idea to mention the problem here:

So I had this exact issue with the new driver 572.16 with Cyberpunk 2077 where it freezes up and resets the PC upon launch.

I rolled back the driver to 566.36 and everything was fine with that game so I also figured it might resolve the issue with Spider-man 2 that I was holding off on buying until the whole bunch of issue everybody was reporting got resolved.

So I just bought it today and toggled every graphical option to max with ray tracing all at ultra etc. DLSS at balanced and frame gen on. Played over 3 hours flawlessly.

TLDR: Try using 566.36 driver from December

Wow, very interesting. Thanks for sharing! I may have to try this.
Happened to me as well but i found the problem. Issue is that Sony and Nixxes were to fkn lazy to implement framegen properly. So if you have a 40 series rtx card and have frame generation enabled, it will hard reset your entire computer/laptop regardless of what you have running in the background. Only solution right now is to not use it until Sony get off their lazy asses and fix the problem. Sony, if youre reading this, if you cant put framegen into youre game without potentially wrecking peoples ssd's/gpu/cpu DONT PUT IT IN THERE. But you always remember to put youre rainbow flags in huh I(which id let slide if youre game is functional, which it isnt on launch) but forget to get you're game working properly. Never forget to charge people to play youre broken mess either though huh?

Just want to confirm that I did try this and was able to play for a couple hours with zero issues, no crashes or restarts. Maybe it does have something to do with the Nvidia driver. Thanks!

Heck I don't even own this game and can say that I had to revert back to the 566.36 (Jedi Survivor locked up with the new drivers). I also use the Studio version. Not sure what they do to the drivers to make it more stable for productivity apps but I've been using them for games with pretty good stability results.
