Things like performance, easier to avoid clipping etc. No reason to put too much time on generic npcs. Same goes for faces. It's not uncommon for generic npcs to have faces that are rather bland. It's far from just Spider-man 2 having that. It's a pretty common practice that has nothing to do with "woke".

Yeah, why don't devs respect the fact that men and women generally in gaming, want the fairy tale experience? When it comes to sexual appearance. They want certain npc's , ones who are important to their main character that they are p[laying, to be consistent with the "fairy tail" of how most people value superficiality to an extent, when it comes to looks. Its not at the top of the list of what's important, but it is something people value none the less.

You won't get much "proof" from this lot. They claimed it failed despite it selling 11+ million copies on PS5 and being on Steam's top sellers. Still there at the time of posting, BTW.
