Full PC Crash while playing
It has happened several times now that my PC crashes completely without restarting. I turned off ray tracing and set all settings to low but that didn't solve the problem. I have a be quiet 550 watt power supply, an RT 7600 Radeon, Ryzen 5 5600 16 GB RAM and the game is installed on an M.2 SSD.

Oh, so you didn't hear about AMD's RDNA 3 bug with 2024 and 2025 drivers? You basically have to go inside the tune options and turn down max clock speed to 2615Mhz. After doing this, all games will work at the same exact frame rate and your pc will stop crashing. This has been an issue ever since the 7900XTX dropped.

sounds like a hardware issue to me. Your GPU might damaged (not saying this is the case 100%, a couple of different hardware issues could cause this). try running some other intensive games and see if your PC crashes as well from them

You're using a card with 8 gigs of vram and only have 16 gigs of ram and you wonder why your game is crashing. You also probably created a CPU bottleneck by turning the settings on low, that could be crashing your game as well. I wouldn't be surprised if your SSD is 98% full as well.

No. It's an AMD driver related issue. You have to lower down clock speeds on RDNA 3 based GPUs in order for them to not crash. It's a simple fix

Memory is not why his pc is crashing. It's the RDNA 3 high clock speed bug

Ther eis not a single process in existence that can use more than 7GBs of RAM. You're just like all of the other people that don't know RAM doesn't matter for gaming. RAM capacity doesn't matter past 12GBs because a single application can only max out on 7GBs for texture streaming, and RAM speed only matters once your CPU starts bottlenecking the GPU, at which point, higher speed RAM = more GPU usage. As for the GPU's VRAM, a single process cannot max out 8GBs. It can utilize as much as 6500MB before crashing. This depends on the engine the game was made in. For this game, memory usage stops at 6400MB and then drops texture quality to prevent crashing on 8GB cards.
I have a 4090 and 13700k, 32gb ddr5 7200.. I have never had a game crash as much as this. This new patch now causes the game to crash my entire pc on startup. I've NEVER had a game do that. It happens every time now.

any fixes yet? i have the same exact hardware as you...cant play more than 1 minute now, and i7 ramps up to 100 temp with a kraken 360 aio, i dunno wtf now, im 3 hours in, cant play....cant refund

If your CPU is getting that hot that's a hardware problem.
This is def a game issue, had the same thing happen to me, in fact I crashed so hard that when I rebooted, my C drive was unusuable. Unable to repair it, Startup repair didn't work. Hard rebooting, unplugging power etc, didn't work. Chkdsk found no issues sfc /scannow no issues, running DISM command didn't work, tried restarting my GPU driver, wouldn't work, I couldn't even boot into safe mode. I would get a black screen with just a blue circle, aka the blue circle of death on Windows 11. I had to completely reinstall Windows, it completely borked my partition. Ryzen 7 5800x3d and RTX 3090, not touching this game until a new patch. Oh, best part, I lost 10,000 files that I had to use EaseUS Recovery to get back, fk this game, seriously, fix your sh*t Nixxes.

game is completely broken at the moment. After rolling out the hot fix I can't play longer than 1-2mins, getting error about gpu drivers failure/gpu temparture being exceeded (running it on RTX 4090 and that's the only game I'm having problems with).
got 2 different crash, 1st one was the gpu thing overheating bla bla and it appear for me to that was dlss fram gen who was causing this, after disable it an diable ray reconstruction no more gpu crash for me. 2nd crash was a blue screen on starting the game with kernel power fail. after check the event log it appear that it was the gameinput service ( that is related with gamepad for example) who was failing and making crash the pc. have found a video on yt that explain how to fix it and it work for me. to my point here there is problem from game, from new nvidia dlss4 and also of course from windows 11 for be... well windows 11. mi rig ryzen 9 5900x 4090 32go ram ddr4 3600 ssd nvme 7000mo

yes, it actually worked. I was able to play for a few hours without any problems. I only had the game crash twice after a video sequence and an error message with the report tool from Sony. but at least the computer no longer crashes completely!
