For anyone having issues with a switch pro controller.
My controller went from working to not, seemingly randomly, and couldn't seem to find any common reason, from steam input troubleshooting, reinstalling, to using big picture mode, etc.

The actual cause seems to be a misnaming of the "steaminput_config_switchpro.vdf" file in the games install folder.

It should be: "steaminput_config_switch_pro.vd".

Yeah that one missing "_" was the wee culprit. This completely fixed the issue for me. Hope that helps.

if you're curious why, it's because this is what the path reads in the "steaminput_mainfest.vdf" file.

All I can suggest is some of the other checks I did before hand.
- Make sure under Steam -> Settings -> Controller, that "Enable Steam Input for Switch Pro controllers" is on.
- Right click Spider Man 2, go to "Properties", and make sure under "Controller" that "Enable steam input" is on.
- Something else I've seen work for others is switching between the official button layouts in-game (most often it's the second layout). To access this open the game overlay (Shift+Tab) and click controller options, first make sure steam input is on, and then try switching between the recommended or use the search tab to find the others.
- Big picture mode? Maybe?

Hope you can find a solution.
