Error post hotfix
Since the game was updated, I can't get in-game. When I press "Continue Game," I get an error that says: "An error occurred while trying to read from an invalid file identifier. Check the installation folder to make sure there are no missing or inaccessible files."

I've already tried verifying the integrity of the files, restarting my PC, reinstalling the game, reinstalling drivers, and the error still appears.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Has anyone found a solution?

Are you an admin of your pc?
If not, run steam as admin.
Though restart pc first.

Yes, I'm the admin of the PC, but I tried what you said, and the error keeps appearing.

Did your antivirus software block some game files?
I only use windows security.

You can try making an exception to the steamapps folder, where it downloads and installs the games.

You can try to backup your save folder, and try with a fresh one and see if it happens again.

Guess the save might be corrupted for this version of the game.

When you reinstalled, did you try to delete the entire game folder and then reinstall, maybe there are some leftover files that interact badly or don't get updated properly.

If you want to downgrade you can mess with the appmanifest_2651280 in steamapps, and make it read only.

Have you been able to run the game previously when using continue?

Yes, yesterday I was playing and today, before the patch, I was able to start the game and continue my progress without any issues. The error started appearing since the hotfix was installed today.

I also only use Windows Security, but I'll try to see if it's blocking any game files for some random reason. Thanks, I'll let you know if that solves it

If no luck with that, you can downgrade. I did this once with Elden Ring, because I wanted to find and test out some glitched weapons before they got fixed.

Then you don't have to turn off auto updates for it, and go offline before starting the game and then turning online again.

I already tried everything, and I'm still getting the same error. So, I don't know what I'm going to do. I guess I'll try replaying it when I have to format my PC xd. Thanks for your help

You deleted the save folder and tried again?
You deleted the game folder?

Well guess that sucks. Hope it works out for ya.

I'm enjoying the game at the moment with max settings, pretty well optimized game.
Doing some dll upgrades at the moment, switched dstorage.dll and dstoragecore.dll to version 1.2.3 instead of the 1.2.2
And using dll swapper latest version to swap out scaling, framegen and ray reconstruction.

310.2.1 is latest version. I can see that in dll swapper.
