No, he says exactly the same. The problem in the previous years (by the way, this was a video from 2009, market is not comparable with today) was the Services you provide.
Steam managed to be a standard in PC gaming, providing decent services, a reliable client, and nice (not necessarily "useful", like achievements for example) collateral stuff to the buyers, compared to an illegal downloaded software, that's why PC game sales are high every year.
