I know brother, I know.... Just got to set a precedent somehow.
I don't really hate it/care, personally, but, that it restricts some people from being able to even buy the game, thats pretty crappy.
They removed it, because, it literally adds no value to a Gamer's experience; but does, however, enable SONY to better see purchasing habits, play times, etc., etc. - you know, ANALYTICS/Data Mining.
I've concluded that the dislike expressed by the PC Master Race Gaming community (I have to keep driving this point), demonstrated to SONY that this community of Gamers will forgo their product before yielding to more encroachment.
I get it: Some people will capitulate to whatever a corp tells them to do in order to indulge their newest (heavily regulated) product - I get those types; and the corps depend on those types to act as proxies.
But amongst The Master Race, we demand more.
So, my conclusion is that SONY realized it would be more sound to simply remove that requirement, rake in a dozens-of-millions of dollars, and move on.
I'll take their silent surrender.
Thus, I made my purchase.
My assessment is that the whole HellDivers debacle set this into motion: They tried to postliminarily add PSN to HellDivers, The PC Master Race read them The Riot Act, so they backed down.... On HellDivers, that is. From that point on, it seemed that SONY was now going to force PSN down everyone's throat - but too many of us must've demonstrated that we wouldn't even by that sh-- if that was the new requirement. Thus, here we are.
I will check on some other games later.... Additionally, I'm surmising that this is SONY doing some "reconnaissance", if you will. Meaning: They may not take the PSN thing off of all games, but just a few high-demand titles to see how the numbers pan-out. Further, they are testing to see the PC Master Race's resolve: "If we give them a little reward, will they then say, 'well, Sony's ok; I'll get a PSN account now'".
Understand warfare. And economics, buying and selling, is a form of warfare.
So, I'll keep my eyes and ears peeled. Main Point: HOLD THE LINE!
Hm... didn't know that moniker was attached to this title <sigh>. Nonetheless, I'm undaunted: My reason for supporting the title stands. Hell, two of the most iconic titles in gaming history, i.e. Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk, can fall under the LGLMNOP tag, so.... If the story's done right, that can simply be a fact of the story's world, versus the story's main theme (that would TRULY be disappointing).
And, "Woke" - I hear people say that, and I have no effing clue wtf that is, so it's inconsequential to me.
Thanks for chiming in, JOKER.
I just purchased GOD OF WAR 2 - why?
THEY REMOVED THE PSN REQUIREMENT!!!!!!
So, to your original inquiry: It's plausible that SONY has ceded ground on the entire PSN requirement for the time being!
As a reward to SONY (and my damn-self, of course), I purchased Ragnarok!
so why’d you buy it?
