I play @ 1080p and try to get at least 90 FPS for smoothness in SP games. Just not happening with this game without upscaling, and that's terrible considering the resolution we're talking about here.
Even with DLSS, it's wildly inconsistent, and there's all kinds of strange hair/character model grain and dithering with it on.
You really don't need a newer CPU. See my comment above. However, you may want a newer rig to use PCI 4 or 5 to take full advantage of higher PCI speeds, SSD speeds, RAM speeds, etc, but even then PCI 3 systems are still very very valid if they were top of the line back then.
My partner has an i9-9900K, 32 GB Ram and a RTX 4090 and is pulling 4k @ 120FPS with this game. Heck his 4090 is only running in PCI 3.0 mode, and he still can pull off 4K gaming just fine.
Even the newest Ultra 9 285K isn't all THAT much stronger vs an older top end Intel.
top end CPUs can last 7 to 10 years for gaming purposes as long as you don't run into an issue where there's a new instruction set required. Now if it's mid to lower end CPU, then ya, after 5-7 years, it's trash.
Is it Nvidia related? I'm running an AMD system.
Bro same for me.
I also add that it crashes.

Almost like NVIDIA makes bad software and hardware. Weird.
Weird that overpaying for hardware doesn't result in playable games at release. Gotta suck having to disable all those features and such NVIDIA uses to market their hardware. Hopefully you didn't go with a low vRAM model!
Dum b as s people, bet you bought a preconfigured pc. Go buy a console
With DLSS Transformer, all ultra settings, at 1440p, with ray reconstruction on: 14700k + 4070Ti + 64GB Ram + 990PRO NVME and a few nvidia filters and runs beautifully. Not crashes, no stutters, no noticable fps dips. (Throughout the whole mission with Sandman)
