the biggest disappointment of 2023

i ADORED spiderman PS4. every single thing about it was amazing to some degree (yes i even liked the MJ sections to a small degree)

miles morales was forgettable (literally dont remember anything about it other than prowler was in it)

the remaster was basically the same with a drastically worse face for peter

spiderman 2 was just... meh. its such a mixed bag. stealth is useless, theres about half the gadgets from the first game, miles' story is basically just there with very little depth, the writing quality is ALL OVER the damn place, peter and miles regularly remove their masks in broad daylight (including in front of peter's house), spiderman twitter is gone, theres no way to listen to the audio logs and podcasts you previously listened to, oh and venom doesnt actually show up until the last couple missions of the campaign with the first one letting you play as him (which was awesome). kraven was great, what little venom we had was great, the black suit insomniac designed is great. outside of those everything about spiderman 2 is a mixed bag

I've played two and actually thought it was a great game, first off its beautiful, secondly no one cares about them taking their mask off in broad daylight, stealth actually does matter unless you just favor getting into fights with thugs, and in some areas you cant even get past sections without it. The only thing i disliked about the game was the ending and how they portrayed venom in the first appearance of the series, i thought the way the introduced the relationship between peter and the symbiote suit was pretty cool and dope. im excited to re play it with my newly built pcs capabilities.

theres no stealth gadgets or stealth related objectives... even as MJ stealth didnt matter as for the most part you could just run past guards and crouch along objects while reloading the taser. you do know peter and miles both have to keep their identities secret otherwise criminals would go after their loved ones right? kinda the whole point of a secret identity and this game just kinda throws that away every few missions
