This game was a flop
nowhere near the same hype or popularity as the first game & rightfully so. they doubled down on all the issues with the first game AND WENT BROKE.

No wonder, you play as Spider-Man again after 2 games with Spider-Man. Furthermore it's totally confusing because of all the different moves and attacks and nervewracking side-quests ala Far Cry or Assassins Creed. Furthermore Peter Parker looks stupid somehow and also he is nervewrecking too in his Venom Suit.

Wasn’t a flop if they made more money than the game cost to make by almost 3x

For me it was. As much as I LOVE this franchise I think we can all agree this entry is mid AF. Plus the replay value is near to non existent.

We can't all agree on that because it's simply not true. The game made back almost 3x its dev cost, got rave reviews, and won awards. There's not even a whiff of the game being a flop.

Cry about "woke" all you want, it just makes you look petty and childish.

You're right. They all probably saw how everyone is exposing their propaganda so they gave us the retaliatory F U
"Launched on October 20, 2023, as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 generated about 2.5 million unit sales upon release. After six months on the market, lifetime unit sales of the game amounted to 11 million, making the action-adventure title one of the best-selling PS5 exclusives ever."

This exactly. Anti-wokies can't comprehend what the word "flop" actually means, because Spider-Man 2 did the opposite of flop.
Of course it's not a flop because nearly every triple AAA title will find his customers today, no matter what kind of nonsense it is. Even the hundreth spider-man, spider-boy, spider-girl, spider-dog, spider-cat game would be a success. My very first comment was an answere of why it theoretically should have been a flop.

everyone unanimously agrees that this game is not as good as the first game.
I'd refund it if I still could. I'm 40% in and stopped playing.

Can't help but notice your backtracking. First it was a flop, now it's just not as good as the first game? ;D

I don't.
I've really enjoyed it.
My only gripe is the exclusion of open ended Ultimate levels. It max's out at level 9 and all you get for each 1 is a new suit style.

Have to agree with the OP
