Playstation account required for a SINGLE player game with no online component?

Sony, learn from the Helldivers 2 situation and undo this decision before release. I was genuinely excited to play Isomniac's spiderman games, but looks like I'll never finish all of them because of your boneheaded decision that you learned NOTHING from.

i was thinking the same thing. its so dumb that for a single player title they will be requiring an online connection and account.

The first one requires no PlayStation account. The second one requires a PlayStation account and it releases before The Last of Us Part 2 which doesn't require a PlayStation account.. What the ♥♥♥♥ are Sony doing right now?

That's the dumbest thing about this whole situation, it's not the fact of requiring the account, it's the bloody inconsistency of Sony that's the stupidest ♥♥♥♥ around. Especially when you can't have a PlayStation account in many countries.

Either make it that all of them require one or bloody don't.

Honestly, I can not purchase them and just play them on my Ps5 as I already own them there, but I want to support the devs, not the publisher. The devs deserve the money and that is a large part of why I repurchase a lot of console games I own on Steam.

I don't feel the same about Xbox titles as Xbox titles all require an account, which is consistent.

If there was a way to remove the need of the psn requirement, I would do it. Its actually ridiculous that they are putting it on fully single player games.

Normally, I don't get too upset since I already have a PSN account, but what irks me the most is because PSN is not available in countries, people from those countries won't be able to link to PSN, stopping them from playing the games asking for those links, let alone buy them, especially since they are single player games that ABSOLUTELY DO NOT NEED INTERNET CONNECTION IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!! THEY RATHER NOT GAIN A BIT MORE JUST SO THEY CAN GET MORE USERS IN THEIR NETWORK BY FORCE WHEN BUYING GAMES. IT SHOULD BE OPTIONAL, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!!! I CAN GET ANGRY FOR OTHER PEOPLE, DAMN IT!!!!!

It's GAMING, not a social issue. If it doesn't affect you who gives a ♥♥♥♥. I certainly don't.

No the first Marvels Spiderman game didnt, Im not sure about the Morales game though.
