KB&M User Experience is lacking
First off I don't use controllers I don't even own one that works and I am not about to go out and buy one when it's not something I ever wanted.

I understand the PC market is a newish thing to Sony and that it's going to take time to properly embrace everything but holy crap the UX of this game is inexcusable considering they have made 2 other Spiderman games before it.

You have keys and combinations all over the keyboard to try to do the simplist of things. I'm really tired of the unimaginative UX designers just making a layout that has no cohesive flow to it. I genuinely think that if the new CEO of Sony Gaming was to play this game with just the KB&M whoever is in charge of UX would be given their marching orders before the CEO had even finished the first opening.

If you're like me and you want to play the game but don't use controllers just set the game to easiest setting and ignore the fact the game expects you to have either 3 hands or 10 fingers per hand and just use the basic attacks.

Is there a particular reason why you are so opposed to getting a gamepad?

I dislike using them and it's not a control method I want to use due to other factors as well.

Some games are just better with them. Fighting, many racing games, sports. This is one of those.

No that's a cop out for this game.

Plenty of game developers who specialise in user experience can in tandem with UI devs and Game play devs come up with control systems that easily take advantage of the KB&M.

I can concede Fighting and Racing games due to directional and analogue pressure sensitive requirements. But I also don't play those games specifically because of that limitation.

However I absolutely can not believe that an action game like this could not have a better UX the only way it could be this bad is through actual malicious intent and not having any pride in your work.
The other 2 Spider-Man ports packed a good mouse and keyboard experience for me. Spider-Man 2, however, is full of hardcoded keybindings and UI prompts that are also hardcoded to default settings -- meaning some custom keybinds are not reflected in the UI.
For example, I bind left shift to jump, but the UI to "continue" reflects the default spacebar to continue. HOWEVER, the actual button that needs to be pressed is shift (because of my custom jump keybind).

I've also encountered double bindings. The spider bot jumps with both my custom keybind and the default spacebar binding, even though I have spacebar bound to something entirely diferent.

It's a huge mess!
