PSN account requirement = NO BUY
This is completely unacceptable for a single-player game to require this Sony. Once again I will not be buying one of your games due to this reason.

EDIT: Another reason this is unwanted is the fact that Sony has a horrible track record of protecting consumer data.

2nd EDIT(1/29/2025): WE DID IT CREW! WE WIN! Sony has dropped the PSN account requirements! SOURCE: https://www.polygon.com/news/515965/god-of-war-ragnarok-spider-man-2-psn-account-required-steam-pc

Voting with your wallet absolutely works and anyone pretending otherwise is lying to themselves and others.

Also Sony is already neutering themselves from the market with the PSN denying them several global markets. They can not keep this up indefinitely even EA is experimenting with no longer needing EA accounts for games with the latest Dragon Age. Ubisoft probably isn't far off either, this PSN push is simply a marketers reputation insisting that gamers will fall into line.

The more vocal opposition to PSN there is the more other gamers will feel less worried about missing out.

Yeah, that is really rough. There are 120+ countries that don't even get the option to buy the game because of this.
It's basically unheard of in today's market. People make a lot of comparisons to services like Ubisoft Connect, Rockstar Launcher, Battle.net. But the massive difference between all them and Sony is that those services are supported *basically* everywhere in the world, and their games are incredibly accessible worldwide. Barring sanctioned countries or other fringe cases, of course.
Just to add to this valid point, all of the mentioned companies actually own their stores on PC and want you to make an account to buy in those stores (however unlikely it is, next to Steam). Sony owns an overlay that requires a PSN...

we need to spread this in every social media, they are trying to do the same thing they tried with Helldivers 2, we stopped them then we can do it again now

Agreed. The fate of Concord proves this to be true.
I wasn't buying the game anyway, but that seals the deal even more. NOT making a PSN account to play a game that isn't even particularly good, anyway.
Messaggio originale di Arkane:
literally no ps game on pc requires a playstation account, you can actually skip that part. source: i played almost all of them and there was always an option to opt out
Except that's not true anymore GOW Ragnarok for a lot of people in certain regions all they could do was log in or close the game that was it so yea it was a requirement for many people.
It looks like SONY is running test to see how much they can get away with the PSN requirement by making it so not everyone is required to sign in to others have no choice but to sign in.

If Sony retroactively decides to add PSN requirements to all their older single player games released on here then I am going to start a refund riot. This is the same thing that killed Helldivers 2 and now they want to add this cancer onto another single player game.

I believe with a change of scale that high Valve forces them to offer refunds, they did that to Rockstar who made Steam Deck no longer able to be used for GTA.

So that is why I believe a bunch of the games are getting remasters and relaunches to try to get people signing up to PSN to play the upgraded versions of the games.

They're on borrowed time though because those remasters cost money to make and if they're not getting the number of sales needed to justify them it will become apparent in the quarterly reports. And they will be torn apart by Shareholders when they games they are releasing are being compared to Wukong.
If you want to sell, don't stop the customer from handing you money. Sony forgot that rule. I was waiting for the original game (in its remastered version) and Miles Morales, played through both of them right on release.

Here — it's skip.

PlayStation, you decided to shoot yourself in the foot. With a rocket launcher. Your outdated login system is of no use to anyone. PSN has got to go.
Also voting no on the PSN requirement. Voting with my wallet.
Not even available to purchase here. So, my wallet will stay closed regardless.

Voting with your wallet has never worked in gaming where it mattered.

MTX
Preorder Bonuses
Lootboxes
Gacha
RMT
Obnoxious DRM
Day 1 DLC
Garbage Release Quality
Advanced Access
Proprietary Launchers
Ingame Ads

All of that crap is mainstream because voting with your wallet does not work. Garbage like paid mods will go the same way. It's only a question of when, not of if.
Actually, when enough people do it, it really does work. Case in point, similar to this crap, or the possible endgame, GFWL tried to charge for online on PC. The backlash worked so well that GFWL is no more.

100% this. All we need is enough noise made on this subject. Unfortunately, all the people that complained about PSN got what they wanted when the HD2 fiasco ended. They never cared to keep the noise up for people who were now locked out of not just HD2, but every Sony game moving forward. Not their problem, as some would annoyingly say.

I mean, the HD2 PSN situation itself is proof that this stuff does work. But it needs to be a concentrated, community-wide review bomb + bad press effort. There's not enough of us complaining loudly enough about this issue for it to gain any traction. Unless there's a gaming journo I can email or something, lmfao.
