The second scenario is a bit more sinister. I wonder if they put that up there to attempt to extort money from the ignorant. So you have PC players who have never owned a ported game from PS4 before and they unwittingly sign up for a PSN account (possibly handing over money for PS plus). I know it sounds a bit left field, but with whats going on in the industry I certainly wouldn't put it past them.
corporate shills defending anti-consumer practises are beyond pathetic
funny. tell your classmates at school during recess
Yes, requiring a third-party online account to play a single player game is nonsense. At least you got that right.
Pathetic how people feel the need to defend anti-consumer practices and attack others for calling those out.
Please, name a single Playstation port that required a PS Plus subscription, just one.
Oh, my little cutie. Look everyone - our little cutie has outplayed cyberpunk and now some very angry corporations are forcing our little one cutie to register a whole account! Ooooh, how scary! How anti-consumer! Cry my little cutie.

It's wild how people will get mad at others for complaining about anti-consumer practices like this. May just be paid bots by Sony, can't see what else could be a motivation for such behaviour.
