Final thoughts
I attempted to play this game a little bit more and the AI really holds it back.

1. There isn't really any escalation mechanics in the game which is strange for a game named after nuclear escalation. You can easily see this in the game where often times the AI doesn't even attempt to invade using ground units and just goes nuclear. You would think at low risk situations they would at least attempt to go the non nuclear route first.
The AI will often just not invade you even if they have a direct land access to you and just start launching nuclear weapons.

2. I've noticed that if the player is in an alliance and makes peace with an enemy then member of that alliance will leave and declare war on the player. This isn't an every time thing but it often catches you by surprise if your not expecting it. It can ruin runs even if your prepared. This is combined with issue 3 just doesn't make sense.
They are at war with 3 nations and thinking shooting nukes at their ally is a good idea? I did have a lot of units in their borders, including anti missile defenses.

3. The AI doesn't seem to know how to make peace. I've noticed they will never ask me for a peace treaty. I've also never seen the AI make peace with another AI before. It's just a prolonged war that eventually has nukes thrown around.

Below are some of my opinions on things

A. Production just doesn't feel correct to me. Some things are to expensive to make. I feel like I am inside of a buffet with a wide selection of food but I can only eat one salad before being forced to leave.
This may just be me an I will explain why. I find many game developers being stingy with production. It feels like I can't have a proper army and I have to struggle with high anxiety trying to get the bare basics down.

B. Boat's just feel weird. They seem to move way to slow. I can research multiple critical technologies before they finally reach their destination. Like it feels like they take an in universe time of 35 years to get from the east coast of the united states to Japan.
I can't really defend my coast line with boats. They take to long to build and they move way to slowly. I'll never respond to a spotted enemy in time. Maybe destroyers and subs should be a lot faster? Keep air craft carriers slow?
Armadas also don't seem to function properly. When I select 3 destroyers to defend an air craft carrier they just kinda sit there even when an enemy is spotted. This allows the enemy to just shoot them without retaliation. The enemy sub keeps going in and out of view while my destroyers sit there and don't chase down the sub while staying close to the thing they are following.

c. There are just very little escalation mechanics for a game named after it.
d. Military bases and transport planes are very annoying to use. For some reason the transport planes keep flying around for a bit before dropping the units. If I can't easily figure this out then it will annoy many other players, especially new or those who don't figure out why.

It's not a bad game but I wish I had not bought it. I look forward to similar games in the future that do take more of a 4x approach. I do think this game was decently made for what it has to offer so keep up the good job.

1. Increase the no nuke timer in the config when starting a new game. Make sure you play the Conquest gamemode, not Blitz.

A. Use mods to boost production or game speed. I can make one if there isn't one.

B. Use mods to boost naval speed. There are 2x and 4x ship speed mods on the workshop. There are other mobs such as my Naval Defence Platform mod which helps to defend your coast.

D. When selecting the air transport from an army base, Shift+Click to its destination will make it drop the unit it's carrying at the destination.

Good points

I still have had problems with military planes saying no even with shift clicking. Perhaps a better idea would to remove that shortcut and force armies to land with the generic and standard right click. Something that's across all games but this one is special here for some reason. Want an empty plane? Select nothing for it to carry.

Otherwise thank you for the response. I will look into these mods.

I might need this explained but why would allies start bombing each other in a nuclear war? You are allies. It would be more productive to just try to bombs the enemy faster and maybe survive the exchange.

I think transports refuse to drop armies if the landing zone is contested. This could definitely use clearer explanation in-game.

The AI has two modes basically, conventional invasion and nuclear war. Different AI players will prefer one or the other at random, and immediately switch to nuclear war if another player starts using strategic nukes on them. You're probably seeing one of the pro-nuclear AIs execute their nuclear plan and create a chain reaction of nuclear war.
