how do i capture territory

I am on my second game and I still can't figure out how to capture Enemy territory. what do I have to do to capture it.

I'm probably doing it wrong myself but like with the first scenario (Korea) I attacked the cities and there was a timer on them that said "time to occupy" once that happened I woudl stop attacking and leave 1 unit to entrench and once i got all the cities in that region that way I took over north korea

You have to capture all of the cities linked with that region/territory, you can click on a city to see what territory it belongs to which will also show you what other cities are under that territory

put armies on all the cities in a region, you can check what region a city is in to see the territory.
