Multiplayer would make it too easy. can always play side by side with a friend. I played a whole day communitcating with a friend that lives in Norway, and we helped eachother progress through what was avalible. It was by far the best time I had playing.

Its not a matter of easy or not, its a matter of experiencing what you are experiencing with a friend, showing off what you have built. An extra player could control extra aspects on the cyclops, or even an extra set of arms on the Prawn allowing for all four arm upgrades. TO be honest though, having to share food and water resources, as well as oxygen would make it a bit harder, let alone building resources, having extra players would be amazing and make the game that much better. Too offset stuff like having the two players building and/or living in the same area could attract the Hunter, who would tear apart bases outside of the Shallows, and bring about energy-leeches if more than one active cyclops tends to be in an active area.

Multiplayer could add soo much to the game, especially if the second player could take the roll of creatures whose genetically engineered job it is to hunt down the Survivor Player as the Hunter itself with a bit of Evolved Mechanic involved. Say, starting off as a basic Larva stage, and everything you eat grants you some kind of trait from that creature. Eat a bunch of Peepers? Maybe get some kind of special, cooldown sight that lets you track down the player. Bladder-Fish? Lets you release a burst of toxic miasma that seeps through the Survivors outfit and rapidly drains their oxygen. Sawtooth? Bonus to damage against bases.

The point is, there is a TON of possibility and the game is being crippled by people trying to defend the 'atmosphere' of Subnautica while its singleplayer. You like being alone, think it feels great? Good, more power to you buddy, enjoy the game you like it, but stop complaining to take away what could be fun to another player. If mulitplayer is added and you don't like it, don't play it, simple as that.

I dis agrea that multiplayer would make it less fun you would probably still have singleplayer for those that feel it makes the game bad but also the ones who prefer multiplayer would be able to play with friends and raid each other lol.

i feel like the trailer spoils so much , seeing ur first levi should be experienced not shows on the trailer
