Or you are the captain. Now this one I want to get into a bit, (btw I highly doubt this because it is far fetched, but possible.). In a abandon PDA msg, a survivor named batt I believe left the building on a recorded voice log, and the AI says his name.

Now when we enter the building or a sub. we get welcome a board captain. This could be a sign to us that our guy is Captain Hollister.

I still highly doubt it. Anyways a dev. confirmed there are other survivors, but this doesnt mean NPCS or multi.
