Could honestly be anything from Permanent Latrine Orderly to Chief Executive Spokesperson of the Miner's Rights Reform League. It mentions in the PDA that any data and work that was on the PDA has been encrypted and locked away due to the Emergency Suvival Mode being activated, and that you have to see an Alterra Corp technician to have the PDA unlocked.

Chances are though, the PC is some mid level engineering technician.

I think we are the second merc because one of the pda files says that one of the mercenaries was heartbroken by the loss of her mate. Interesting why though suggesting mercs dont really care for each other, not even in marriage. but i suggest that is why we are able to survive. We know the drill and we have probably faced worse before (natural selection)

this is a different planet. no doubt the pda's emergency settings are set to earth years, which is odd. So perhaps a year on Earth is a day or a month on this planet

Also perhaps we weren't the only crash. perhaps something here knows we keep coming and wants either a human sandwich or feels threatened by the presence of something larger than it

And given how fast the days pass on the planet, the reverse is more likely, that a year on this planet is like a day on Earth.

Something either feels threatened by us being there, is sending a signal, or knows that it's favorite snack is aboard those weird metal things in space. Or perhaps a weapon charged by the planets core has been left on cause the guy who ran it got eaten before turning it off

Only seven because we dropped before everyone could escape. Also perhaps there were malfunctions where not all launched when they were supposed to or the comp died before it could record the entire escape sequence
