Marguerit Maida and her corpse
I know its not in game... But i really, really liked this character in some way.
I mean -> She beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of a leviathan.

So - why not add a small corpse or "old equipment" and a PDA which maybe shows her last breath after she killed the leviathan, maybe the rebreather is damaged and she know she cant go back up. And she will die.

Or maybe she was able to get into the fossil-zone and gets killed by a warper?

I really miss the opportunity to find some of the old DEGASI Members :(

Just explore the Lost River (fossil area) and you will find it. If you need a hint there is a fossil on a pedestal-like rock formation, look around that area until some green lights start glowing. follow those lights. watch out for warpers, they like the area beyond the green lights

And thats how
Maida healed herself without the help of the sea emperor?

I dont know how she healed herself, but i dont think she did it that way. i believe she floated on the reaper's corpse right after she killed it all the way to below zero

So - there is still discussion-stuff how she healed herself? I mean - the other explanation would be that she had a immunity to it. But then the Degasi Crew would have also made it. I like the story but this feels like a big plothole

I have a feeling it will be revealed in BZ if it hasnt been already, but there is a chance its been revealed somewhere else and i just havent heard it

I hope so - i just read a bit about it. I am going to play it soon when its released. Now i am doing a hardcore run. But i liked Maida, one of the badass-women where i dont have the feeling its 'nonsense'.

I agree, one of the most well written characters in the game

i mean - most of the characters are well written.

But tbh - i have 'more feelings' about the DEGASI-Crewmember than from the Aurora, even when the Aurora is the newest fallen ship.

Sadly there isnt much plotline for Aurora Stuff or.. 'corpses' to find.

I know they get eaten, but simple remains of them would give the game a much darker touch.

Maybe she ate a bunch of enzyme-filled Peepers raw because I'm pretty sure that's how the rest of the ecosystem avoided extinction

I assumed she was actually still around, beyond the playable area, managing to fight the virus but not cure it or get off the planet, and she got cured, like everything else, when you set the cure in motion.
As a character I think she's horrible, and very well written.

There's a simpler explanation as to how she's still alive after ten years in the kharaa-tainted sea. From the Natural Selection 2 wiki;

"The Bacterium is the basic building block of the Kharaa and is responsible for the evolution and aggressive behavior of the Kharaa lifeforms. The creatures and structures that the Kharaa have at their disposal were previously not associated with the Bacterium whatsoever but were separate species that were infested and incorporated into the Kharaa gene pool... Once assimilated, these species would be regularly reproduced, albeit re-purposed to better suit their role in the Kharaa..."

She didn't cure the bacteria. She adapted to it. Or rather, the bacteria adapted her to itself. That's why she didn't succumb to her infection like Bart Torgal did. That's why she acts so aggressively in BZ towards Alterra's presence on 4546B. That's how she stayed alive for so long in the Below Zero area without any technology.

She's one of them now.
