The Peeper Theory
You are probably wondering what in the world is this theory about? Well I will show you. In a recent update for the leviathan prison peepers can be seem flowing in and out of pipes. They then are ejected to different biomes. Remember this, if you are a great Subnautica fan you would probably know the green trail some of the peepers have. This may get crazy so here I go. In a PDA recording you were likely to hear when you the living area of the emperor to know about the rare planton like atmosphere surrounding the emperor's home. What if the peeper were filtered through there and the pipes and then going to the different biomes? It was probably a test phase abandoned for the aliens. Just so the world could survive. What if peepers were keeping us ALIVE. They have been filtered in and out of that biome for a long time. I would expect these little guys to at least gained a trace of the substance that cures us. The desagi said they would never go underwater. Yet only 2 went. With the other one left to die of the carar. So what am I saying? Eat your peeper or you will die.:steamhappy:

But hey! That's just a theory! Thanks for reading!

You are told the peepers are more intelligent than most creatures in subnautica. I beleive they are consiously spready the enzymes that the emperor releases. in order to protect the planets inhabitant from the carar virus. if you notice, the peepers leaving the vents have a trail of green behind them.

I'll try to find the source, but the story actually is that the Sea Emperor over the centuries she's been trapped, has actually used her psychic abilities and trained the Peepers to disperse some of her Enzyme 42 to the greater ocean above in an effort to stem the destruction of the Carar to the planet's ecosystem. However, what she's doing is merely a bandaid solution and she knows it. The only true cure for the planet will be the end game goal when you hatch her babies and let them free into the ocean .

They are snackrifices to peeper god, isn't it obvious?
^ Peeps for the peep god! Eyeballs for the Eyeball throne!

But on a more serious note, apart from theorycrafting, has anyone been able to make anything out about those peepers with the enzyme trails near the alien pipe system in/outakes? Is there an alien cache or an object to scan that provides any in-game lore on the matter?

Scan the pipes in the pipe room when you get down to the Emperor's Aquarium... well in a room before the Aquarium.

also the degasi survivors never left a member behind, what are you talking about?

-----------------------------------------------Spoiler-------------------------------------------------------------------------

They were all killed bya leviathan at their base in the grand reef, most likley a ghost leviathan
No, you're right. Bart, Paul's son, managed to return to the isalnd base where he died of his Carar infection AFTER the Reaper attack which resulted in the deaths of Paul and Margueret (directly? indirectly because the Warpers got to them after they were exposed? "They don't want us down there and I can see why"?). But they definitely all went together to the Grand Reefs base.

id like to add that it chould be that
the levation was controlling peepers to do this so that there whould be something left for her children to see when they got out but had to spend less and less time doing this because of her energy being wasted causeing the carar to come back.. however the peepers now see this as instinct...

or something like that

Thanks for supporting the theory on death by carar theory!
