Just for curiosity.
What happens if I don't stop the radiation issue on the Aurora? Like, when I went to the Aurora for the first time the PDA said that if the radiation don't be contained within 24 hours it would cause a huge impact on the ecosystem, and when I stopped the radiation I got the achievement "extintion event avoided". So, if I don't stop the radiation does something happen or it's just like the sunbeam thing, being just part of the story don't matter what you do, it will be aways the same way?

Yeah it's like the sunbeam, just part of the story to nudge you into exploring the aroura.

As I expected. Btw, thanks.

Except for the whole "spreading radiation" thing. The longer you leave it, the larger the area that is covered by radiation will become. So unless you want to spend the rest of your game in a rad suit, go and fix the ship.

Is there a limit on how big that area can be or could you cover the whole map in radiation?

I assume it won't get bigger as it is shown here:

But you do get the benefit: Radiation dissipates in a few game-days and you no longer need a rad suit.

Besides, you old and new aliens already littered the sea with bits and pieces of junk. You going to leave it now radioactive, too?? :steamhappy:

Actually, it will not extend from that message. It has a smaller area before the aurora explosion[vignette.wikia.nocookie.net], and a larger area that it quickly expands to[vignette.wikia.nocookie.net] after the explosion. It will not get any bigger than it is shortly after the explosion.

However, it will indeed remove the radiation near the aurora after a few days if you fix the engine leaks, which means you can instead wear a reinforced suit and rebreather instead of having all 3 suit slots taken up by the radiation suit.

Dammit! there is no entry in my world! I will need to noclip inside.
You sure? the entrance to the aurora is on the destroyed side. You need a fire extinguisher and a laser cutter to get in, if I'm not mistaken.
