I guess the other 14 life pods landed somewhere else on the planet and one of those life pods will have the female in it that is going to be the main player in the DLC.
The current map is a nice warm area due to all the volcanic activity. The rest of the planet maybe an ice ball.
Or the rest of the planet could be mostly dead due to the a meteor struck sometime in the past, causing a massive extinction event.
But based on the in game data download
Lifepod Tracking Data
Lifepods 1 - 27 launched OK at time T+0hrs prior to Aurora planetfall
Lifepod survival rate: 35% approximate
Emergency bouncebacks received from 7 lifepods on planet surface
Human lifesigns detected over long range at T+8hrs: 1
Personnel unaccounted for: Non-Essential Systems Maintenance Chief Ryley
Continuing to monitor
Monitoring equipment failed at T+9hrs
That says 27 launched, but only 7 lifeposts where 'functional' on the planet. We know at least 10 got there, but 3 were 'toast' already and 8 hrs later only one life sign was detected. (you)
I like to think there's still a few other people in various, far away areas that are surviving like I am. Makes it feel less lonely :(
