Cyclops takes no damage.
This bug has arisen in multiple games: enemies capable of damaging the cyclops (such as the reaper leviatan or the ghost leviatan, for example) start the animation of attacking the cyclops and the red icon appears on the submarine's radar but does not The creature attack alert is activated and the enemies do not really cause damage to the cyclops either, although they do push against it as if they were attacking it, hindering the mobility of the submarine, but without causing damage, making all the difficulty disappear. I'm playing a hardcore game right now and this bug has ruined it for me, it takes away all the difficulty from exploration or the risk when advancing in the game. By power, I could go towards infinity along the edge of the crater (in fact, I have tried it) and the ghost leviathans that appear precisely to prevent you from raiding there will only appear for decoration, since they do not cause damage. Anyone else has happened? It has a solution?

Do you have, by any chance, Mods installed, that could cause this Situation?
Even if its not active, maybe a file got corrupted in the Process and that limits the damage to your Cyclops. Honestly, i never heard of such a Bug... and Cyclops had some really silly Bugs in the past xD

No, I don't have any mods installed. This bug is not the first time it has happened to me and I have never used mods.

Hmmm.... could you try to verify your Game-files in Steam? The Platform has this option and it seems to be a good first Aid, that can detect corrupted Files and repairs them. Does not help any time but there is no harm in trying.

I have done it, I don't detect anything anomalous. Anyway, on the other occasions it has happened to me I have deleted and reinstalled the game and the problem is not solved.

Still unclear what causes this, as it doesn't happen 100% of the time.

I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but it has happened to me more frequently in hardcore games, and if it happens, it happens to me the entire game, directly, I have to start another one or play without difficulty with the cyclops. Although sometimes, in the same games in which this happens, something curious has happened to me now that I think about it: sometimes, in places where there should be leviathans, although they do not harm the cyclops, sometimes, the damage animation is activated and the submarine suffers damage; as if the leviathan's hitbox (or whatever performs the attack function inside the creature) is separate from the 3d model and wanders invisibly where it's supposed to spawn so that if you approach with the cyclops without knowing it It is there (again, as if it were invisible) it attacks you. It only happened to me once in a game where this bug was present and it was in one of the Lost River exits. I think the one next to the destroyed precursor research center. I was barely able to save the cyclops, since every time he started the engine he suffered a lot of damage, and there was really nothing around.

I must also say that this bug, at least for me, appears since the last or penultimate update; that of the below zero structures or that of bug resolution. I don't remember it appearing before that, but it could be a coincidence.

Sounds like a Positioning-Error. If the attack-Structure/Hitbox isnt in the Creature-Model, it would explain the surprise Damage, when youre close to the hitbox. Can you determine, if there is some kind of "rule" behind that? Like "the hitbox is about 10m outside of the Model, positioned above the Creature."
In worst Case, since you said it happened with several Leviathans, ALL hitboxes in your Game are not where they are supposed to be.
Without knowing the inner workings of the Game, i would assume that atleast one coordinate in a X,Y,Z System has a faulty Value. If the Model is X=0, Y=0, Z=0, the hitbox should also be X=0, Y=0, Z=0...... but maybe one if these Values isnt Zero, but 100 and that causes this Situation.

Oh wait..... maybe its the upside down case ...... maybe the Hitbox of your Cyclops is in the wrong Place and thats why the Leviathans cant cause damage, while you sometimes get hit by something "invisible" :o Would be more logically than several, individual Fishies having a similiar problem.
Would you be willing to build a second Cyclops to test that Theory? Just the submarine itself, without any Modules, to remove the possibility that a Module causes this behaviour.

admiral1018 is right.

The Cyclops collisions were changed a bit before the update, and now the leviathans have a difficult time attacking it if you let them bite on it. They'll succeed if you move in the direction of their mouth, but if you're static most of the time or move in the opposite direction they'll just continuously push it.

It's a known issue for everyone. There is no specific reproduction steps to trigger the bug.

So the Cyclops is, at the moment, indestructable by Leviathans as long the Ship doesnt move in their Direction? Players will probably exploit that to use the Submarine as Weapon against Leviathans.

try stopping to let them get a hit on you before slamming the ahead flank button, they have trouble actually getting the right angle

No matter how you position it or which direction you point it relative to the leviathans, it doesn't take damage. At most, the Cyclops's positioning is bugged, and it's thrown far away but still takes no damage. This actually makes the game much less difficult.
