Sea Dragons attacking Engines Off Cyclops.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1117200204

So yeah. New updates have made Dragons just silly amounts of aggro.

It's been escalating from-
A: Will rub up against your cyclops with the engines off like a horny buzzard. No damage, but being knocked 90 degrees, seeing tentacles clip through the hull, and spawncamping your exits is annoying.

B: Aggro on swimming scuba dude from 160 meters away. Rushing over to try and BBQ me as soon as I leave my outpost.

And now here we are with C: "Okay, I snuck into my Cyclps without physics glitches. silent running. move my Cyclops a bit for Prawn access. he's clearly ignoring me due to silent running... Now. Turn the engines off, and leave the controls-" Aaaand attack. Maybe it's a fluke-Nope, more attacks and now I'm on fire.

A bit hard to "Wait for the aggro to clear then repair it" when Sea dragons not only spawncamp your engines off Cyclops a lot. But are also outright attacking it for damage.

(The "Burning wreck" destroyed cyclops signal off in the distance is my older cyclops I had removed the depth module from. As the patches demand a brand new cyclops for the 6 slot mod console to work).

Still going on. It's not like being parked in the vicinity of the Alient Containment Facility is someplace you are not supposed to bring your cyclops. It's the end goal destination for it, unless you just admit that the sub is useless and that you should walk your prawn through the whole lava biome.

Can't even try interior decorating without inevitably being interrupted by enough sea dragon humping to make you eventually hit something.

Between the worse occasions where it just starts outright attacking for direct damage, rather than "Harmless" bashing you 90 degrees so often you eventually hit something. Or your prawn suit glitches in the docking bay because your cyclops was still two degrees off center.

You need to stop making your cyclops so gosh darn sexy to sea dragons. :)

Is there any specific reason that you'd bring the Cyclops down that far? Just curious. I only ever bring it as far as the Lost River if I want to haul materials to make a base. It seems easy enough to breeze through the rest in the PRAWN suit.

Because it's a major plot point destination. Though "Constantly plows into your cyclops with the engines off" is not exactly something that should be happening regardless.

It's just so sad watching them have no idea how to path between watching them clip through the nearby mountain rocks. They just have no idea what to do with themselves when not allowed to attack (except when they attack anyways). Go home dragon, you're drunk.

That said, it's fascinating how if I'm the one to say "The Cyclops is so lame right now, you are probably better off walking there with your Prawn" causes a melt down about how the Cyclops is great.

But if I do want to use use it and park it outside of the Alien Containment Faciity? "Why would you ever use the cyclops?"

Cyclops viability. Always the opposite of what I say.

I wasn't implying that your complaint about the problems that you're having are unwarranted. It would annoy me too. I was just curious. You're free to play however you'd like.
EDIT: I worded this incorrectly earlier. I'm dumb when I multitask.

So I hoped to at least attempt a workaround by parking close to the ceiling of the active lava cave, and it SEEMED to be working for a while as he kept swimming underneath me rather than through wherever I parked in the cave.

But, alas. Eventually they go "Wait a minute, there's a parked engines off Cyclops up there!" and rush directly upwards to slam me into the ceiling for hull damage. And just the once was enough to start fires.

Parking in the middle well above the floor and well below the ceiling of course, has not been of any use either as said before.

I know I'm a little late on the solution here, but the fix I found was to take out the power cells. The Sea Dragon just doesn't care about the Cyclops at all when I do that, even with me in it.

What a blast from the past!

While their antics was less frequent (but not nonexistent) in my post launch gameplay, part of the snag with your advice is the times where even the trip towards the engine room was more than enough time for them to take offense to my engines off ride. (Also it means no recharging them with the thermal reactor, but by then you have access to infinity ions within the next five minutes)

Much more shameful are all the clipping errors anyways. What a ride from pre-launch "Stop doubting we'll ever fix it! We're years long vets of the industry!" to "Uh.... Well everyone KNOWS it's literally impossible to fix in this engine(why did we pick this engine then if we're such experience vets of the industry? uh...)

Given the expansion has 1,000% more reliance on surface interations than the base game with such concepts as SPACE TRUCK, and tunneling monsters. Hopefully it's because they think they can actually handle it this time (not needing to build off the corpse of an abandoned terrain edit system may help there)

Delicious indestructible chips. They were so worth it even when they made you vomit blood.
