"Thankfully" not only Subnautica is affected with the buggy driver (for me, Gwent also crashes), so I really hope we can expect some update soon regardless. Until then, I also put 18.4.1 back.
The game log says
(Filename: C:/Subnautica/plastic_workspace_unity/artifacts/generated/common/runtime/DebugBindings.gen.cpp Line: 51)
Object reference not set to an instance of an object
Crash!!!
I'll revert back, don't know if submitting the crash report to the devs could be useful
I contacted AMD and they asked me to send a Video shoving the problem, and also a lot of data on my Hardware, so I think they are working on a fix as we speak.
Also I have reverted to 18.4.1, so I still can play Subnatica
I have an iGPU with an AMD 2400G, 16GB 3200Mhz CL14 Patriot RAM, and before somebody goes "ew, integrated, that's your problem" this thing ran medium quality @ 1080p at 45 fps yesterday.
I can't really rollback because reportedly there's huge gains in performance for the Ryzen iGPUs, and I can't justify sacrificing a 20% boost when Subnautica is the only game out of 30 I have installed that immediately crashes on launch.
Short computer specs: Ryzen 2700X / 16GB / Vega64 with 18.5.1 drivers / Windows 10 with applied 1803 update
I'm not 100% sure that it's the AMD 18.5.1 driver. I have a suspicion the last small update for Subnautica. It had a small size of 9 mb.
Sorry my english. Use translator.
As an aside I've absolutely racked up the hours on Subnautica now using driver 18.4.1 and finally been able to enjoy the game without fear of crashing. Absolutely loving it!
It's not fixed with 18.5.2 yet. I think we should wait a little bit more.
