Unable to find Prawn Suit Drill Arm fragment
So, this is my maybe fifth playthrough, I have 20 hours on this save, and have pretty much everything I want, apart from 1 thing... The drill arm. I have spent maybe 7 hours just searching everywhere, looking at every wreck, and around the map, however, I have only found 1/2 fragments for it...

What do I do? Is there anything I can do? or just cheat in the blueprint?

P.S. What's up with the spawning of fragments? There are seamoth, moonpool, vehicle terminal and scanner room fragments everywhere, maybe 6 times of what I actually need of each, yet, I've only found 1 drill arm fragment? The spawning sucks right now

Cheat it in. In some builds, it simply is only there once.

OK, the P.R.A.W.N. drill arm has become an issue for a lot of people and you are probably going to be told to empty your entire CellsCache folder or something like that. You don't need to do that.

There is one wreck where people have consistently said they found the drill arm and that is in the second Grand Reef wreck at these coordinates: -865 -430 -1420. Go there and look through the entire wreck. Bring a lasercutter and a flashlight or a Seaglide (use with Swimcharge Fins to avoid using up battery). You will likely find atleast one drill arm fragment but that is it. You might get two or more fragments but I doubt it. You still might get lucky, though, so search the entire wreck anyway.

If you don't find any fragments or if you've only found one fragment then return to your base, exit your game, open Windows Explorer (or your Mac/Linux equivalent) and find your Subnautica game folder. If you are using Windows it will be here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Subnautica

Go into your SNAppdata folder, then your SavedGames folder, then whichever one of the slot folders your saved game data is in (slot0000, slot0001, slot0002, etc.). Find the CellsCache folder and ONLY delete the file with these numbers: 7 16 3. Outside of your Cellscache folder you can also delete the file with the same three numbers. Reload your game and type "warp -865 -430 -1420" into the console. Look through the wreck again and repeat these steps until you find all of the fragments you need, then type "warpme" to return to your base.

Hopefully that will help.

Why would you tinker with your game files when you can simply unlock it via console? I see this hint coming up in nearly every drill arm thread, but it is by far the most difficult solution.
You can simply open console (F3, then enter) and then "unlock exosuitdrillarmmodule".

The solution I suggested is for those who do not want to cheat by using the console. Resetting game cache files is also still technically considered cheating but that way you still have to do the searching and scanning on your own so it is more like forcing the game to give you a fairer chance at finding the fragment whereas using the console is flat-out cheating. That doesn't mean you cannot spawn in the fragment yourself if the game is giving you a hard time about it, but - assuming everything were working as intended - it doesn't emulate the experience of fair and legitimate gameplay, which is what a lot of players are after.

Okay, guys, this game is still in development, so there will be bugs that you'll have to cheat to bypass. Whether directly giving it to yourself, or just re-generating it to the world, you're no longer using a 100% pure world. Sure, deleting the cache, reloading the game and searchig it for yourself is the lesser of the two evils, but they're still both cheating.

For me, I'm going with @Salinité's suggestion, simply because my SO and I are having a playthrough multi-goal challenge, and it would be unfair if I downright cheated in the blueprint.

Thank you both for your suggestions.

Honesty, I have no problems with either versions, because it is a bug - and a game breaking even! But I was wondering if I overlooked something. Deleting the game files is something far more dangerous than just using the console to "cheat" it in. Especially for newbies ( no disrespect meant, I wish I was a newb again regarding so many awesome aspects of the game) the hurdle to delete some of your files could be to high. Thats why I always write that it is a bug. Actually, I'm not even sure if it IS still a bug in experimental, cause I won't start a new game till release.

Head southwest from the gun platform. Continue to do this until you reach a chasm that leads down into bloodkelp. The wreck down there usually has both grapple and drill arms x2 for me. Worked so far in 3 playthroughs.
It's one of the deepest wrecks. This playthrough I havent found a dive suit but TBH i don't need it as I know what to expect at this point.

If you follow the pda hint you got it would of directed you toward this wreck at some point but you could also be experiancing issues with tech progress. My friend seems to lose his tech progress when loading and went from 2/3 to 0/3 fragments knowledge. He just consoled one and reset his world spawns after the first time deleting some files or something. Its the cleanup fix ppl used back in the day to cleanup lag.
