If you do insist on finding it yourself then I think the best way is to follow the location hints to the approximate location, build a small base with a scanner room there, and then scan for wrecks. Life pod 7 will show up as a wreck though I won't guarantee that it will be the only one. There isn't anything there that you need to advance your progress, so you're better off going after it later rather than sooner. I thought the PDA entry was interesting, so it may be worthwhile find it just for that.
With that said, here's an easy way to find it. In the southern part of the safe shallows, there is a wreck (which you can enter) right next to a thermal geyser. Lifepod 7 is directly south from there, so if you can find that wreck (which should be a lot easier), you can find Lifepod 7. Note that you'll pass over another wreck in the grassy plateau on the way.
Thanks. I found it rather quickly and without too much damage. What does the toy car do for me?
BTW, chasing/ramming Bonesharks with a reinforced Seamoth is FUN !
Yes. You can get the strange doll and a very handy survival tool.
