Should I bother with lifepod 7?
I"m trying to visit all the lifepods but 7 has been trouble. I have tips on the location but after six tries, have come up with nothing. My seamoth was destroyed four times and severely damaged at other times. I wonder if it is worth the effort but I hate to give up. I did find a ruby.

It's kind of optional. The direction and distance given in the location hints are loose approximations, so they basically just point to the biome you need to look in. That biome happens to be full of craggy rocks making the pod hard to spot. On top of that the whole area is like bone shark central. So unless you're really set on playing the game blind you may be better off just looking up the location on-line. (There a videos which just guide you to the pod, so you're not the only one who's had trouble finding it.)

If you do insist on finding it yourself then I think the best way is to follow the location hints to the approximate location, build a small base with a scanner room there, and then scan for wrecks. Life pod 7 will show up as a wreck though I won't guarantee that it will be the only one. There isn't anything there that you need to advance your progress, so you're better off going after it later rather than sooner. I thought the PDA entry was interesting, so it may be worthwhile find it just for that.

OK, I will wait a while then. I just went out trying to follow instructions and lost my seamoth again.

There's nothing critical in that lifepod, so if you're getting frustrated, feel free to skip it.

With that said, here's an easy way to find it. In the southern part of the safe shallows, there is a wreck (which you can enter) right next to a thermal geyser. Lifepod 7 is directly south from there, so if you can find that wreck (which should be a lot easier), you can find Lifepod 7. Note that you'll pass over another wreck in the grassy plateau on the way.

Get the zapper upgrade for the seamoth first, it makes the bonesharks easier to deal with.

How do you lose your Seemoth so often? I find it quiet hard to get your stuff destroyd unless you drive it directly in a reapers face or leave it in a hostile area and swim realy far away from it which is not the point of having a Seemoth.

There is some fun swag there, though. Arguably the best piece of swag in the game.

I wonder how yous seamoth could get destroyed in cragfields. As far as i know there are only bonesharks but i never found them close to the pod to the point they can harass me. Its pretty hard to actually miss that pod.

But there is something critical. Markiplier. How do you dare state that theres nothing or no one critical?!

Thanks. I found it rather quickly and without too much damage. What does the toy car do for me?

It's just decorative. You can place it in your base.

The point of Lifepod 7 is that it gets you out into the Crag Fields, which is not much use, but the area IS one of the "safer" places to find Cyclops engine fragments. Once you have gotten over your fear of // learned to deal with ... Bonesharks.

BTW, chasing/ramming Bonesharks with a reinforced Seamoth is FUN !

Yes. You can get the strange doll and a very handy survival tool.

Which survival tool? As I recall, there is no fragment at LP 7 that is not available much closer in to center, much shallower, and much sooner, so...?

The toy car was labeled a survival tool, but how? There was no doll in my pod 7.

Iirc, the doll is a recipe for the habitat builder; you don't actually get one that you can pick up an place in your inventory. In any case i't's just an Easter egg. The car is pure decoration, no more a survival tool than the "Keep Calm" poster.
