The second best is near the big volcano in the shallows. There is even a depression where you will place the cyclops exit while it is parked on top of the volcano, recharging while you are busy elsewhere.

I am currently sitting on building my base in the Lost River, but forgot to bring salt deposits with my Hoarder (Clops) :(
And they are not present down there.
So I'll go back up to the Safe Shallows with the whole Clops, get salt deposits and build the Thermal Reactor for to recharge it right there. :D
In the meanwhile I'll follow my main task to gather salt and magnetite for the Hoarder (too many lockers are empty :() with the Prawn Stonks.
It has 3 storage upgrades and the depth module. ^^
I had to go to the mountains, as I failed to find a fragment for the grappling arm elsewhere.
I found one piece in a wreck in the blood kelp zone near the great reef.
ONE PIECE! Everything else was drill arms and torpedo arms.
Not sure what the RNG was thinking there.
There was a nice wreck with tons of grappling arms in the Mountains and the thermal reactor blueprint in a data box.
I did not meet any reapers on my way there.

Can you make a water machine? That will generate salt for you.
Thanks, but I've moved on to the lava lakes already.
All I need now is more titanium, so I'll head back to the inactive lava zone for these resources.
I only found these in the Jellyshroom caves.
Later I went for some extra titanium to the crash site. So it was overall worth it.
Even though I've too much magnetite now. ^^
I've already reached the lava lakes and I am nonly up for some more titanium, which is easy to get in the inactivate lava zone.
