Male/Female Gender Selection/Character Customization
Hey everyone, my girlfriend brought up a point in saying how they should add character customization and gender selection, I think its a pretty good idea considering who doesnt like making their own unique character :)

Im pretty sure I heard that they are adding gender selection at some point.
Character customisation seems a bit pointless thought as you never see the characters face outside the trailer.

I've seen a LOT of creature/terrain concepts where the diver is clearly female, so I'm guessing they will at some point.

Hey EazyDuzit. Allowing the player to choose their gender is important to us. We actually have the female model done already (not textured yet, though) so we do have plans to add the ability to select your gender. It is a substantial amount of work to fully implement, though, so no ETA on when that will go in the game.

As far as other character customization, that really does depend on if we end up adding co-op multiplayer. Because, as it was pointed out by War_Dyn27, it is not really very important if the game is only single player and you can't see yourself.

It would become rellevant if it is implemented a remote control scout device or reflections on any surface.

Except for the fact that right now you can see the character's hands and their body just by looking down.

Due to how skintight the suit is, the body looks pretty darn masculine.

The skin color of the character is preventing me from purchasing this game.
I'd agree the game would benefit from character customization.

It's sad not to play a game for something so simple as character customization. I've played, and enjoyed many games with a female protagonist, or as a character who's ethnicity didn't match my own. It didn't matter though, after all, we're playing a game, where the whole goal is to become immersed in an enviroment with little in common with the world we live in, and to take on the life of a character, who we have little in common with. I can't find myself in the place of a intergalactic space surveyor, so it doesn't really matter if we look alike either.

I wont be happy until I can play a wolf/pig/chicken sub female with strong male like female origins. This only because I like to be angry about what makes no sense. If that makes any sense? I think that was perfectly clear. I think gender is power over sense.

I refuse to play this game until I can make a giant purple puffsquid of indeterminate gender.
