Probably longer than that, there is still a lot missing from subnautica. Just getting all the textures in will probably take them 2 weeks. I think this game is a year or more from going beta, let alone a full release.
Years more likely.
Jesus...
What? Did you seriously think this was even close to release? Software doesn't appear over night. There are a lot of fairly smart people working their butts off to make this work.
I've never worked on a game before, but I've worked on, and lead several large software projects, each of which took 2 years or more from the initial proof of concept to the final product.
That we have something somewhat playable is nothing short of a miracle and I would be willing to bet money that what we have right now will barely resemble the final product.
Calm down sir. I was surprised because the game is already so interesting and good looking I thought it was near it's final stage. If anything that assumption is a compliment to the developers. Fanboys are really the worst....-_-
At current state of the game I assume a release within the next two years (if no fundamental changes to the game itself will happen like another game - no name will be mentioned - which changed so often that the final release was indeed a failure)
Thank you for the response. This game looks amazing and I look forward to giving you my moniez.
NS2?
RTS/FPS genre-mix with a lot of tactical and strategic depth
