Full Release Date?
I know I know, this compnay is trustworthy blah blah blah. This is not about trusting them. I just prefer buying a full game and not have to wait for updates and so on. My backlog of games to ploay is long as ♥♥♥♥ and more great games are coming out all the time. I need a date to set aside the cash for this game. Do we have an estimate at least?

There is no release date known. I think they need at least a few more month.

Probably longer than that, there is still a lot missing from subnautica. Just getting all the textures in will probably take them 2 weeks. I think this game is a year or more from going beta, let alone a full release.

Years more likely.

What? Did you seriously think this was even close to release? Software doesn't appear over night. There are a lot of fairly smart people working their butts off to make this work.

I've never worked on a game before, but I've worked on, and lead several large software projects, each of which took 2 years or more from the initial proof of concept to the final product.

That we have something somewhat playable is nothing short of a miracle and I would be willing to bet money that what we have right now will barely resemble the final product.

Calm down sir. I was surprised because the game is already so interesting and good looking I thought it was near it's final stage. If anything that assumption is a compliment to the developers. Fanboys are really the worst....-_-

We don't have a final release date yet, as there is quite a bit more we would like to add to the game. It is, however, very unlikely that it will be years before the final release version is done. We are working hard to get the game out this year, which is probably not out of the question, depending on what the final feature list ends up looking like.

The Duke said: "When it's done" ;)

At current state of the game I assume a release within the next two years (if no fundamental changes to the game itself will happen like another game - no name will be mentioned - which changed so often that the final release was indeed a failure)

It's already worth it to spend the money :) I followed their development and some LPs about the game for quite a while before I bought it and I realized their high ambitions and close communication with the community, working hard on the game. This is what Early Access should be... and in my opinion almost a warrant for success and a good game.

I assume more than a year. This game is just massive. World is as large as Skyrim as long as i know, and it's all about deep alien ocean. They need creative and distinguished environments, creatures and atmosphere for them. Furthurmore hundreds of different gameplay, more tools. At the end storyline and multiplayer. They are super hard working and i doubt they'll release an unfinished product (they already suffered a lot from NS2, which was their first official project and a masterpiece, but only because of its horrible launch, the game is almost dead by now).. so more than a year would take.

Natural Selection II

RTS/FPS genre-mix with a lot of tactical and strategic depth

Buy it now. Play it, watch it grow and develop. I've been playin it since before the story mode elements were even a thing, and I feel like I have such a connection to this game. I feel like that godparent who's gotten to watch their friend's kid grow up. It's quite the experience, watching a game develop.
