Where to find magnesium?
There is no option to craft it...

Collect 3 salt. You can make magnesium from it at a fabricator.

Get 3 salt, and it should show up in your fabricator, the new crafting system makes you have to have atleast one of the items in your inventory for it to show up in the crafting

Alternatively, depending on how far into the game you are, the water filtration machine also produces salt.
