There isn't one right now. That is, the devs haven't shared it with anyone yet.
You can't pronounce the name for it. Your arms bend the wrong way, and the clicks don't sound right above water. Loosely translated, it means "Wet". :sr4sunglasses:
this is why i havent bought the game yet
I just call it Frank.
for all intense porposes you can now call it home
Make your own name. This planet wouldn't be named, since you crashed on it and it's uninhabited. Why would it have a name?

I always thought it was "Subnautica", although that's not official.

Cause it was gonna be terraformed. Plus, even in today's day and age, we name planets that are lightyears away. (ie. Kepler 7b, or Gliese 581c)

The Aurora is a habitation spacecraft sent to the planet *4546B* for a terraforming mission before the arrival of colony ships. However, during its descent, the Aurora was struck by a mysterious energy pulse resulting in catastrophic hull failure, leading to its crash landing on the surface of the planet. A single escape pod was launched before impact, which contained the player. The ship's wreckage is surrounded by radiation.
I have it on good authority that the planet is called Badstevener's Abyss.
Hate to contradict an actual UWE Dev (Flayra), but "Nautica" sounds about right.

Subnautica's (as yet undisclosed storyline) may echo the themes of a certain anime... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nausica%C3%A4_of_the_Valley_of_the_Wind_%28film%29

OMG, No! Come on guys, we need a good story like the movie Alien for this great game. It's not logical at all for a planet to be called "subnautica"
