Subnautica
Scariest/most intense moment?
I don't think I've ever played a game that is so simultaneously beautiful and relaxing, but also capable of intense moments.

My most intense moment was the first time I was exploring the giant Purple Mushroom cave. I took the Seamoth into the cave and was struck by the beauty of the purple mushrooms; it felt like a magical, underwater fairy land. As I continued deeper in the cave, I found myself in a small tunnel leading into blackness. I started to get a bit nervous, but continued to venture onward. The small tunnel soon gave way to a giant underground room. I have no idea how big, since I couldn't see any walls.

At this point I'm getting shaky at the thought of being underwater, in the pitch black and with no point of reference. But I continue further into the blackness.

And then something roared.

Loudly. Right next to my Seamoth. And BANG! Something hits me.

At that point I don't even try to find out what it was. I let out my manliest shriek possible, hit Esc and promptly quit.

That cave terrifies me.

just the open deep waters are enough to scare me....even though I know nothing is there, I feel like something could be lurking. It's disorientating.

When you think about it, we as humans, always have something to huddle against, a chair, a wall, a building, a vehicle, even a tree or a rock......but in the open ocean you've got nothing between you and what could be out there, and I think that's what's most frightening.

Yeah, that feeling of floating in nothing but blue is a creepy feeling...

Remember a few times when doing deep dives as you're decending there's just blue around you and below you and you get this uneasy feeling of decending deeper with no idea how far you'll go.

I went really deep and found these massive open pits. Upon entering one of the pits, a massive rumbling sound (kinda like an earthquake) scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me. I went down deep to investigate but ran out of power before I could get to the bottom. I wonder what is down there. Great game!
first it was that metal loving creature {then i figured out how to get minimal damage},

then it was those exploding fishes {now i use the environment to avoid it},

then it was those snake looking things that shoot at you {now i avoid completely},

then it was that moving sand..O.0 what is that?.. OMG!! {avoid as well},

then it was those bloodsuckers {now i know},

then it was knifing an acid mushroom on accident {never again},

then it was , and i am not 100% sure, i was checking out a glowing plant long and stringy protruding downward in a cave {dead, never again}

but the one that never stops for now is timing the heat vent to get resources
Yeah..getting stuck in that cave running out of power because I was following the wrong beacon (I left one at the cave entrance). That cave has a lot of exits which I didn't know at the time and there is sooo much Gold down there!
I've had a few - first time I heard a Reefback, first time I saw a Reaper Leviathan, etc, but honestly... Today stands out.

I got down to the lava castle in a cyclops today. I was looping slowly around the cavern when I heard an almighty roar just above me. I switched to the top camera in time to see a Sea Dragon Leviathan charging me.

I almost shrieked like a 6 year old girl.

Fortunately, the cyclops is fairly robust so I got past it but was forced to switch to my PRAWN suit to get inside the castle itself. A mere 10 seconds of terror boosting for the tunnel entrance, and I was safe inside. I could hear it swimming about, roaring and was damned glad there was a wall between us.

Anyway, I get deeper inside and the space opens up. There's a ton of resources in every direction, so I look around, make sure I can't see anything suspicious and then risk stepping outside my suit. I'm desperately grabbing as much as I can, when I hear another roar. Much, much closer. Right overhead in fact.

I look up, see another Sea Dragon Leviathan swimming at me, shooting fire.

At that point, I mashed Alt-F4 and haven't gone back since.

My worst one was swimming by the aurora thinking i was safe, then right after i save a frigging reaper spawns almost right in front of me, i start swimming backwars while im watching him charge at me, I survive cuz i ducked under some sand formation near the aurora and he promplity turns back and eats a sandshark that was nearby, i rush back to my pod and save my game then quit, still terrified as ♥♥♥♥.
in this new update i am driving my seamoth just aft of the aurora, then reach the edge or dropoff when; what wow so close i see a cyclopse part i'm like really? i jump out and swim to it and then stare right into the un holy face of all that is NOPE! i backpeddled back to the seamoth and mashed the fullthrottletoanywherebuthere key and promptlyed NOPED the heck outa there.

I went to the Aroura in a seaglide.
meeting the reaper LOL.
Personally the reaper is a jumpscare. They're actually quite majestic when viewed from the cyclops.
The mesmer scared the everloving ♥♥♥♥♥ out of me the first time I met it. The warper confused and scared me.
The worst was the run for the the old underwater base in a Seamoth getting EMP'd by a Crabsquid patrolling it that had me on the edge of my seat (because sitting in it would simply get 'it' all over my buttcheeks)

Left my seamoth at the front of the aurora. Went in and came out. No seamoth. Went into the water with seaglide. Reaper welcomes me. Did i mention it was nightime?
When I was in my seamoth near the mushroom trees and i heard this roaring in the distance. Then out of no where i was being grabbed by a reaper. He let go of me and I got the hell out of there lol
My first encounter with a warper. Now THAT was scary! It happened in the blood gulch biome while I was collecting materials near the entrance. Plus it was livestreamed on Twitch too.

I'll let you know more when I get in the right moment in the game. About to launch it up.

Just got in and deleted all my saves. I know it's a new update so I want to do it ALL legit this time.

In fact, I'm going to livestream this as well on Twitch.

https://www.twitch.tv/waverun3 Come check it out.

Sorry guys, had to stop streaming.

Streaming or screaming?
Usually when a reaper says "Oh hello, nice seamoth you have there, I wonder what it tastes like?" that elicits screaming, not streaming.
Well I suppose 'streaming' refer to the liquid coming out of your bladder right after a first night-time reaper encounter.
