Large Organic Mass

So, at the start of the game i had some sort of coordinate-ish thing that showed be a waypoint in my game when I had in in my inventory. It said "Large organic mass", and it was over 1.000 meters away.

So i went ahead and went to it, only to see a MASSIVE coral-like structure, kinda similar to the big tree from the movie "Avatar" (just underwater and a coral of course). But the weird thing is that there were no enemy or even other livings around it, so what is it there for?
I found some entrances at the bottom, but they just seemed to end in dead-ends very quickly.

Anybody got an idea what to do with it?

It's probably just there for discovery right now. A lot of things like the floating islands aren't populated or itemized because the devs' haven't gotten there yet, in terms of design and progression content.

I did find a couple of blueprints there to scan...cyclops depth upgrades
