No enemies persay.......but you are tastey.........
I understand your phobia to a certain extent. Some of the most beautiful ocean scenes can be terrifying lol
But seriously, get the game, you wont regret it. :)
I have a phobia of murky water so I empathise somewhat. If your phobia is triggered by the thought of being attacked by sealife you might want to think twice about this game. It is capable of very relaxing moments but in order to progress without cheats (and play the game at all, really) you'll need to venture into more dangerous areas.
Freeplay, as opposed to survival, only disables food and water consumption. Hostile sealife will still attack you and some of it, to be honest, is pretty scary - perhaps not for the average gamer, but a thalassophobe might struggle with it.
(I have trouble with the Farcry series because of my phobia - even FC2, which, although it had no hostile river fauna, had very convincing murky water. Brr.)
In 90% of the cases you can hear the sealife from a safe distance, so you can avoid them, once you get used to their sounds. Everey creature type has an individual voice-setting.
Just swim away, in case you get chased by one. Their stalking distance is really short.
I personally fear sharks. Because of that, I really struggle with stranded deep or other games where you can meet sharks.
The sci-fi atmosphere of SN never gave me the shark-phobic-feeling. So for me it helped, knowing that there are no "planet earth" predators and I'm reallyas excited to see the new predators (bigger ones).
I would recommend you Subnautica. Use it as a phobia-therapie to get rid of your fears :)
And maybe, in the future, there will be a way to turn off the "hostile" behavior of the predators - or there is already one, which I don't know.
I can honestly say it's the most terrifying game I've ever willingly played... but I keep playing it!
Second game went okay with just a constant mild panic, built the Seamoth and went off in a direction and saw some truly horrifying crap. Eventually i meet a REALLY giant monster manta ray thing and quit the game D:
I'll keep at it :)
heres a tip, when you see one of the " manta ray " things, just stay away from it for a bit, listen for it, then youl know what it sounds like and you can avoid it in later games, as far as i know its neutral, so it wont attack, dont know if it can even attack.. after a while i went up to it and checked it out... interesting litttle fella.
Oh! And be careful of the blood sucker fish things. Not only do they hurt, but when I piloted my cyclops through a cloud of them, they nearly totaled its hull.
Its called Reefback. No reason to fear these adorable cuties. I love their deep humming sounds.
There is a list of the sealife where you can see, which creatures you should avoid.

The first time i tried it tho i starved or dehydrated myself to death standing ontop of the lifeboat listening to the fartmonsters scream, which is when i made this post i assume.
Completed it several times since.
