Lost laser torch

1. Is it possible to drop a tool? I crafted a laser torch and now it is missing.

2. I have looked all over on the safe shallows and I can't find the lava vent anywhere. I thought all shallows had the lava vent. Where should I look?

honestly youd be best making a scanner room or using the seaglide to search for the vent.
also just craft a new laser torch if you can. its easier to just craft a new one. you probably dropped it. ya you can drop them, you likely dropped by mistake and didnt notice it. or you died and it got dropped that way....

Yes, you can drop it. And yes, it is possible to recover it, as the game will not delete it. However, dropped tools will very often clip through the ground, so there's a chance you won't be able to find it without using console codes.

Honestly, the time it would take to find it is not worth it. Laser cutters are fairly cheap, so I'd recommend just making a new one.

I made another. Only problem was it was my last two diamonds. Here in the beginning game the torch is not really that cheap for me. I lucked out and found those 4 in the Mountain Island.

Luckily, you don't need that many diamonds in the game. Another 8-10 will likely be all you require for the remainder of the game, and maybe not even that many. Shale outcrops become very plentiful in the outer biomes, so it shouldn't be hard to find more.
