also just craft a new laser torch if you can. its easier to just craft a new one. you probably dropped it. ya you can drop them, you likely dropped by mistake and didnt notice it. or you died and it got dropped that way....
Honestly, the time it would take to find it is not worth it. Laser cutters are fairly cheap, so I'd recommend just making a new one.

Luckily, you don't need that many diamonds in the game. Another 8-10 will likely be all you require for the remainder of the game, and maybe not even that many. Shale outcrops become very plentiful in the outer biomes, so it shouldn't be hard to find more.
