Missing Cyclops thermal reactor module?
There are supposed to be three possible locations. I have got the data boxes from the mushroom forest wreck and the mountains wreck. There's supposed to be a data box at the grand reef wreck, on a panel lying just outside the wreck itself, but it's not there. Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

Yes, the blueprint is not in my PDA. I can even see the space where it should be.

That's a good plan sgrey. I will take the cyclops to the edge of the big cavern and head for the thermal facility by prawn or seamoth. Those ion batteries might do the trick.

seamoth can't go there. only modded version can do that

That's right, the seamoth has a floor of 900. Prawn it is then.

I meant, you can use the moth to swim up to that hole to the lava zone, and then use seaglide and just swim yourself into the lava castle. As long as you unlocked the ultra high capacity tanks, there is enough oxygen to get there, collect all the kyanite on the way and even play a bit of a tag with the sea dragon.
Alternatively, go there with only prawn all the way, leave other subs at home, but get one ion cube. When at the plant, unlock the portal and just portal back home after getting the ion power...

To go there, you would need to stock up on enough material on a submarine to build a base with a nuclear power plant and battery chargers.

Yeah, sgrey I get it now. I don't know about the portals yet, so it will be conventional transport all the way. Thank you very much for all the help and advice mate.

Yep olavsu1, I'm thinking about that. Just a multipurpose room, a nuclear reactor, and a power cell charger. Build it right at the entrance to the big cavern.

Update- Yes, I am an idiot.. I was trying to make cyclops power modules on the base fabricator, and I was looking at the wrong section of the blueprints list.

Don't feel TOO bad. Perhaps unsurprising, but I think every time i've seen someone complain of not being able to find/get/create this part, over my last ~5 years involvement with the game...THIS was exactly the reason. Maybe 3 or 4 threads in that time.

Ha! It still doesn't explain the missing data box. Even if I already had the blueprint, the data box should still have been there. It just would have given me the usual two titanium. That's what threw me....

That's the weird thing, sometimes they are removed, sometimes they remain and offer titanium.

Ah ok. I thought they always stayed...

Actually, specifically for DATABOXES: It has always been true that remaining databoxes containing an already discovered item are not generated at the remaining locations when you visit them.

You may find one of the duplicates if you visit the alternate location in the same play session, but not in subsequent sessions.

The contents of DATABOXES ... DO NOT convert into minor titanium rewards when found after acquiring the BP. The unopened databoxes of that type just disappear from the game (actually, not generated when the scene of the location is drawn).

The the fragments in random CRATES, or even lying around in / outside wrecks DO turn into minor Titanium rewards when scanned after the BP has been recorded.

The thing that was confusing to veterans attempting to advise on this particular problem, was that OP stated clearly that s/he HAD opened two of the appropriate databoxes, but that s/he could not fabricate at the ENGINE ROOM FABRICATOR nor find the blueprint in the PDA. It was a misunderstanding about which fabricator had the BP record & which portion of the PDA.
