Good Way to farm copper?
Hi! So im going around in my cyclops now, and the thing i find most strenuous is to gather copper all the time for power cells. Sometimes i dont find anything for 30 minutes, sometimes i find a few in a minute, but i feel that even with the power upgrade installed the the time you have to invest to farm material for the power cells is in not justified by the time you get to drive around in the cyclops. Is there any particular "trick", or search pattern or anything you guys got to farm copper more effectively?

Oh, and are there plans for future updates to include craftable sensors/radars ect. to point the player to specific ressources? Like, say, copper? ^^ I think that would be a gread idea.

Your best bet is to swim around in safe shallows and kelp forest. AFAIK those are the only places they occur - if you used up too much, I think no one would think lesser of you if you spawned some in

Thank you for your reply! I will look in those areas and spawn them if the need arises.

So does copper not respawn? I assumed that all the ressources respawn over time.

Nothing respawns and the last word from the Devs was that this was intended. Which, for the longevity of the game, makes no sense. Would love some official word on just what we are supposed to accomplish in a survival builder with finite supplies =3

Survival and escape. While I don't personally condone to playing a game with a time restraint (Fallout 1 was a love-hate game for me because of that), the 'you're gunna run out of fish in the ocean, son' kind of makes you be catious of your time and resources spent.

Kind of like an unofficial time challenge, where running out means you eventually die.

First, thanks for your replies. Secondly, are you absolutely sure that nothing respawns? I could swear at least salt deposits suddenly appeared in areas i've gone over 100 times before. Could be wrong though.

There is the possibility that between game loads the resources might respawn, but that's a bug more than features. For reasons unfathomable by me, the devs didn't seem to code in persistence in containers and world

1. Mining the seafloor(Why make a voxel landscape if you're not going to mine it?)
2. Map is expected to 4km x 4km by 2km deep so there will be plenty of rss

If anyone still needs this, go to sea treader path and follow behind them and break the nodes they unearth.

indeed seems every other footstep they make leaves a copper/lithium bearing rock, also they drop turds, dunno why you can pickup a sea treader turd, but you can. heh.

Reefback barnacles have copper ore in them, which is a relatively safe and early source, becareful of tigerplants.

Get the PRAWN and the drill arm and find yourself the copper chunk rocks and farm all the copper you want.

This question is over 2 years old. The OP has probably built a cell charger by now.
Build a little outpost with a Scanner room use it to find the cooper or the stoneparts that may contain copper.
