Recharge fins + SeaGlide = ANNOYANCE
While I love these nifty charge fins things, using them for the SeaGlide is annoying. Please consider a button to just HOLD the SeaGlide, so it can recharge properly, instead of short bursts each time 1% of power is obtained. While one can get used to the constant sounds it makes, the beeping and such, I'd much rather just be capable of choosing when I need the speed to escape or marathon somewhere.

Short bursts? The Seaglide is a constant state of speed when using it. It's either on or off. Last I checked, I don't recall the Swim Charge Fins even working with the scooter, unless the devs have changed something in the last two Experimental updates.

Yeah, the charge fins are currently not working properly with the seaglide. We need to get that fixed up so that they recharge the seaglide the same as the other tools.

Why not just an on off switch for the seaglide like you have for the flash light, this way you can turn it off swim around under water and charge it then turn it back on when needed?

@Phaota I'm not on experimanetal. What I mean is, I charge 1%, the SeaGlide turns on for a second, it powers down, in which time the fins recharge it again, I get 1%, and so on and so forth. The power on and off sounds overlap and it's a cacophony, but it's still a lot faster than swimming without it.

I'd concur with Hannical's idea. Just an on-off switch on anything handheld that has a constant effect, like the SeaGlide and maybe in the future a haldheld sonar/radar

Yeah sonar/radar would be awesome to, you can upgrade it to find materials, or lifeforms.

The state the game is now the seaglide uses power at a rate that exceeds the energy produced with the charging fins. Although if you start with a full or partially charged battery the fins do extened the life of the charge but in no way make it infinite. Since the speed boost from ultra glide doesn't stack when using the seaglide having the charging fines with extened seaglide use is effective.

I actually like the sound it makes, kinda sounds like some techno rave song.

It always had. I'm not sure you understand what my gripe is. I am annoyed at the constant on/off sounds the sea-glide makes when it gets that 1% and immediatelly uses it up.

Seaglide should have an on off just like your flash light.

Exactly

An easy solution yet not as effective to the on/off switch is to switch your tool to a flashlight and use it as a charger for your batteries, simply swim around until you have a sufficient charge then hit R to take out the battery. Replace the battery in the glider with the fully charged one, rinse and repeat.

Yeah seaglid needs an on/off mechanic its crasy to think I could swim using it and charge it up, I always thought of it more of an exploit that it works at all with the fins as it charges the weilding torch so slowly, it just seemed like I was cheating using the fins wit hthe seaglid since it always worked just turned the light off when I stoped.

This was before the battery update though. Don't necro such old threads

And just WTF is your problem now?

This problem is obsolete due to the battery update
