How important is it to get to the aurora before it explodes?
I just bought Subnautica tonight and I'm on my 6th or 7th attempt to get there before it explodes. Someone said I needed to get there cause the upgrades for the sub are in it. I'm really loving this game already, even though a darn toothy fish had me holed up in a coral tube for a quick minute >.<
Are the upgrades that important or is it something I can live without? I'd really like to get past this hurdle so I can explore some more of the world.

You are supposed to let it explode, there's nothing to get from there if it doesn't explode.

Far as i know, you cannot enter it before it Explodes! Like they said above ^, just gather Resources & Make a RAD-Suit.

dont think its just easier trust me. you dont really HAVE to go there but if you do if your now in a cyclops or somethin then the reapers might get you..

FYI - the upgrade in question is a power efficiency module for the cyclops, which is a major power hog. Definitely worth getting, when it's there after the explosion.

Quite apart from there not being anything before hand, I read that the explosion can cause serious damage to anything too close to the Aurora. So I stay away until it's gone boom.

Those reapers are over the top! I made my rad suit and swam over after the Aurora exploded, as I got about halfway down the side of the ship I was freaking cause of the noise and noticed something long swim past. I turned to see what it was and WHAM! that sucker grabbed my face! I mean full on,both tentacles to the sides of my head! I screamed,it screamed and I came to back in the escape pod. WOW!!!

I swam back and found some nice loots in the chests on the ramps but I couldn't find a way into the ship,I stayed as long as I could but I definately wanted to get away from there before it got dark.

If you say that power module is worth it,i'll go have another look see. I've got a sea moth now and almost all the stuff I need for the cyclops. Is the entrance to the ship underwater maybe? I looked everywhere on those ramps.

I am kinda bummed they would not let players keep the ship intact.

It crash landed in the sea and sent scrap metal all over the planet for you to use. Rebuilding it should be an option, but it just crashed from SPACE. It shouldn't be intact.

The fact that it crash landed isn't the only thing, it got hit by a ball of seemingly pure energy.
Bye bye hull.

I'm surprised there's as much intact as it is. Getting smacked with an energy ball, superheated and torn apart coming through the atmosphere, slamming into an ocean and then exploding. Definately wasn't built by a government contractor. >.>

Getting into the aurora is a bit of a mystery. You have to climb on the ramps and get as high as possible then when your at the highest you can get there should be a little skinny walkway from some kind of metal which when walked on should lead you into a little room where you can see a entrance which will lead you inside.

If your still having trouble I suggest using the command consle and useing "FREECAM" to look around see if you can find the path.

Also carful reapers can two shot the seamoth but they cant even harm the cyclops.

there are 2 ways to enter the Aurora.
the easiest is the breach in the hull near the front of the ship.

crates can be found on the Aurora itself as well as on the sea floor at a depth of 20-30 meters from the breach all the way to the back of the ship close to the thrusters.
they are spawned randomly.

the best way to explore for crates is to use the Cyclops, as you are immune to the Reaper as long as you stay in it.

you can maybe use the Seamoth to go fix the radiation and get the Power Upgrade Module as well as all the crates on the Aurora, get the hell out of there and come back later with the Cyclops to get all the crates on the sea floor.

They did a very good job of hiding it that's for sure!

There's more crates around the Aurora?! I've not done any exploring around it yet,I don't wanna run into another one of those reapers. I managed to build a cyclops though,I'll run check it out and see what kind of loots I can find, thanks. :D
