help with lost river entrance North of Floating Island
I went north of the floating island found the alien vent, north east of life pod 19 and i can not for the life of me find the lost river entrance.

I am stuck trying to find some nickle. I explored another lost river entrance in the north and could not go deep enough as my prawn is limited to 900 meters till i find some nickel. my cyclops and seamoth are both limited to 500 meters.

so mainly where can i get some damn nickle.

and where is that southern most lost river entrance?

thanks

The Northern entrance is no where close to 900 m. More like 500. You can find lots of nickel on the walls of the lost river well above 700 m. Park the cyclops at 490 m just outside and use the prawn to enter. Swim the walls and use the prawn as a O2 source. You may also find a drillable Nickel node or two in the toxic brine. And as a bonus, crystalline sulfur is available in the same location. You need both for depth modules.

By the way, the materials to upgrade the seamoth up to 900 m are found not that deep, you only need lithium and ruby. Did you find the blueprints? You can even get to the Coven Tree with the fully upgraded seamoth, but not beyond that point.
I like to upgrade the seamoth first and enter the Lost River through the Deep Grand Reef. There I get the materials to upgrade the PRAWN and Cyclops.

But as Coops said, you can go through the northern entrance. You can pick nickel to upgrade your vehicles and some sulfur as well. Lifepod 2 is near the entrance, so you should find it. If you go there, don't leave without the sulfur for the Jump Jet Upgradeupgrade for the PRAWN and for the Cyclops Fire Suppression System Module.

This is my favorite entrance to the Lost River, quite safe and easy.

Give a little love to your seamoth. I neglected it too in my first playthrough after I got the PRAWN (The PDA warning saying it is normal when first piloting a Prawn suit to feel a sense of limitless power is absolutely true.) but kind of rediscovered it in the subsequent plays. Once you know where the danger is, the seamoth feels totally safe.

I couldn't find the Lost River entrance near the island either and looked extensively. Ended up going somewhere else (can't remember exactly where, a few months since I've played) and was successful.

This is weird.

If you follow the clues to the DeGasi remnant bases...
... (which have labeled HUD beacons placed on them when you get clue for that location), ...
... the southern LR entrance, the one near the Floating Island, ...
... is in the back of the same cave beyond one of the DeGasi sites.

It is hard to miss if you follow the visible coordinate markers, and do a bit of exploring around the story sites you are guided to.
