Subnautica
peaceful mode
i feel like there should be an option to make all hostile creatures friendly, because fighting is not what i like to do in open world survival craft games. What can i say? I prefer the pacifist type of life

Start in Survival mode, then activate the developer console and activate the "Invisible" cheat. Instructions on how to access the console can be found here: https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Console_Commands_(Subnautica). As stated on that page, you'll need to turn this back on each time you load the game, so make sure you are somewhere safe when you save the game.

I'll reiterate what others have said, though -- the danger from creatures is more illusion than actual. If you just ignore all the hostile creatures, you'll be OK far more likely than you think.

Thanks to all that mentioned the invisible setting. As someone in his late 60's and having a slow reaction time it has helped me a lot. I finally got to retrieve some valuable assets. Hopefully someone will come up with a mod to compensate for being old when playing games 😉.

lol - there may not be a mod, but at least you get to take your time when you play - i would like to be able to retire today and just play :-)

@nagball - Bite your tongue, whippersnapper. "old age and experience (?treachery?) trumps youth and enthusiasm".
@Drizzt - Yeah. It's GREAT! (The sex could be better, though.) ;-)

you just need to set the correct configuration options ;-)

you will still need oxygen and sustenance, and have to deal with power and pressure etc
sadly i was incorrect with regards to pressure - neither the player's vehicles or structures will be damaged by depth pressure with the "invisible" mode enabled

i thought i had tested it - but apparently i was mistaken - apologies :-(

however - you can use a command like "damage 0.1" (instead of "invisible") to turn damage down to 10% - so your vehicles will still get damaged by depth pressure, but not so quickly - and you will still get attacked, but it won't do so much damage - plus your structures will leak if their integrity drops to 0 or below (this will happen for any damage % - even 1% - since structures can either leak or not leak, depending on whether damage is enabled)

but obviously this is not so peaceful

not sure there is a way to make creatures ignore the player, but also have damage enabled :-(

Your solution already makes the game playable for some people, maybe not perfect, but easy and gets most of the way. Plus, pressure is annoying and kind of arbitrary.

thanks - i'm glad to be of some help - the rest will be with the devs - i just checked the Below Zero custom mode and it has a "hostile creature aggression" slider - and so if they do bring that mode to the original, with all of its other sliders and toggles, then it should cover most options - or at least quite a few more than are currently available (i still need to test if the day length affects hunger/thirst and crafting times - since in the original it affects crafting but not hunger/thirst - kind of the opposite that most would likely want lol)

the thing about depth pressure is it does shape the progression through the game, by restricting how deep vehicles can go until they have been upgraded - and it also adds some challenge for base construction

i'm planning to play my new run with 10% damage and see how that goes - since that gives approximately 100 seconds that a vehicle can be below crush depth before getting destroyed (without repair - and so the player could use it - but could only be away from it for just over a minute - so it is like an additional oxygen timer) - as well as having structures behave as normal

but currently trying out BZ's custom mode - starting with a no aggression run - and then will see what the day length affects

either way - it is nice to have all these options - even if they aren't "perfect" - they still provide lots of different ways to play the games - and are far beyond what many games offer

and yes - "invisible" still allow players to do all of the resource gathering - and to have to manage their oxygen etc - as well as having to do some exploration before they can build a vehicle - and more so if they want the highest tier oxygen tanks etc before they head down into the depths

plus you can scan a Reaper - which feels like it must be impossible in the normal game lol :-)
You can scan a Reaper if you kill one, or if you put one in a Stasis Bubble.
I had noticed that pressure is not a problem with the invisible mode set although I still play it as if it is a problem. I have just upgraded my seamoth to be able to go deeper. I want to play the game as close to the original but I needed something to compensate for my poor reaction times. I was not progressing.

I do but my partner complains I play games too often.😊

How relateable.
Can't wait for the day where I actually have nothing else to do as the state pays my rent for which I worked my ass off.

Possibly just gonna play video games and watch series / movies. ^^

You don't even need to kill fish to survive. Just rely on your own intelligence I'm sure you're smarter than any fish.

You mean to eat this grass thing (criptine or something)? Because nothing else is available at the beginning. Well... it is possible but it's not very nutritious. Let's call it hardcore vegan mode ;)
Ehhh... if you aren't playing blind, it's easy to get a sustainable source of vegetarian food and water before you run out. The habitat builder isn't that hard to build, and if you know where to look, neither the growbeds nor food are hard to fine.

Heck, if you *really* work at it, you can nearly finish the game with only the starting two filtered waters, and if you are OK with dying you never need to eat or drink.
The key is here "if you know". But if you don't know, you don't read spoilers, probably you have only grass if you don't want to kill fishes.
