All icons missing, can't figure out why

My friend and I are attempting to play the Subnautica multiplayer mod Nitrox, which I understand can be buggy at times but this issue is not being caused by the mod because it is still occurring when the mod is turned off. So far I have not seen anyone else with this issue and I have done basic troubleshooting such as reinstalling.

In order to play the mod you must put Subnautica into beta legacy mode. Launching the game and starting a world is no issue, it is when I am in game and open my PDA to see no icons of anything in my inventory. I will now provide a picture of the issue https://ibb.co/Lk224XC

I do not have any other mods installed and as previously mentioned this is a fresh reinstall of the game. I would greatly appreciate any help with this issue. Thank you

At first I thought it might be the icons like the lifepod and submarine icons, but this is really weird. Maybe try restarting subnautica, or if you're not far in try restarting the run.

Everytime I launch a new game the same problem persists. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the game but it still happens

Hey i'm running into the same issue trying to use Nitrox to play multiplayer. Have you figured it out or is the issue still persisting for you?

Does this occur when you Do Not have Nitrox installed?

If it does NOT occur when Nitrox is not currently installed / active, then logically it is not a Subnautica / UWE problem. It is either a Nitrox problem / glitch, or a nitrox conflict problem.

So I think your next step is to remove or COMPLETELY deactivate Nitrox, and see if the problem persists in a fresh solo playthrough.


Also, Note: If it DOES appear to be a Nditrox problem, UWE can't help you. Most forum members can't help in that case, either. You will need to address the problem on the Nitrox web site, Discord, trouble ticket, etc.

I have reverted the game back to vanilla and everything works perfectly fine. I am not sure if it is a problem with Nitrox or if it is a problem with the legacy version of the game. My friend, who I am trying to play with, has no issues with Nitrox and no issues when in the game so it is weird. I might join the Nitrox discord, if they have one, and see if anyone there has been having a similar issue.

Hey I fixed my game :) I'm not sure if this will work for you but I had a couple of Mods on Vortex running which I think was the reason. After switching the game to normal then back to legacy with no mods online it worked. Hope this helps

Thank you! You made my day - had similar problems for me, some fin symbols were missing. I just searched the plugin folder for "vortex" and found a leftover file in a completely different mod folder. I deleted this file as it was an old file anyway and that fixed my game. Thumbs up!
