Water problem.
I made a lovely base up on the mountain island with the alien gun, I have everything I need. It's beautiful, but one problem. Water. I've been eating bulbo plants for water, but it may not sustain me for much longer. Is there an easy way to get water up here without having to come down a bunch? Do water filtration machines work out of water lol???

Why would bulbo trees not sustain you? If you just plant 4, that should be plenty...
Well, the obvious answer are marble melons, the best food in the game. If you just have one growth bed of those, they will give you everything. Or 2-3 small pots of them.
Then there is a possibility of making an ACU with bladderfish and making filtered water that way, I guess.
Then there is the lantern fruit, however little it gives, there is always a crap ton of them and they grow back super fast.
You can also stack up on bleach, like make 2-3 full lockers and that should last you forever.

I didn't word it that well. At my base I'm fine- But when I go on adventures it can be hard to get water because 1, my base is about 900m from my observatory base. (That's what I call the mountain base. And 2, there's like no salt in the area... Wait. I just remembered when I made a new base a while back I left at least 2 lockers filled with 40oz water. That should be enough for a while! Thanks though.
One question, how come I see you everywhere in the subnautica community area???

Ah, then you can have ACU with bladderfish to take water with you
You can also simply make a room with a water filtration machine in the water and connect it via tubes to your base, or just leave it separately. Base components will be considered as the same base within a certain distance.
Or make an independent water producing outpost in somewhere nearby and just stop by it on your way out.
Or build multiple outposts that have water machines in some key areas and you can just stop by and resupply with some food and water.

Good idea! In my ACU I basically have a gel sack farm. It would be quite easy to create a multipurpose room down by the shore with a few solar panels on top and a few water water filtration machines. I could stock up on water every once in a while using it. Thanks!
If it could help, I have 2 pots with marble melons at each exit/entry and also dotted all over the base and use it for base food and also to take food/water to max before I leave. This conserves the water made in the WFM and the food grown in the ACU which is only used as travel food.
Edit: I also have a few pots with marble melons in the cockpit of my Cyclops which has the same function.

If you wear the Still Suit, 2/3 of your daily water needs are covered.
A Fishtank with a variety of Fish + Sea plants + Land plants should give you more than enough Food and Water options :D
Would say a single large Multipurpose Room can provide more Food, than you ever need - make yourself a Farm XD

(careful, list contains Food from Subnautica AND Below Zero)

My cyclops has food, but I don't always go out with it. I solved it with a water room. I was on land so I couldn't really use water filtration machines, but I built a multipurpose room with 3 down by the shore. The problem was I didn't have water when traveling

Thanks! I decided the still suit might be worth it.

The marble melons solve the water issue whilst travelling to a large extent in very little space but I still keep a large locker onboard for salted Reggies and water to use when I go exploring outside the clops and which I replenish whenever I get to a base.
The Stillsuit trivializes water needs when traveling. Most fish also give a few water when cooked with the thermal blade, so that and the suit are almost enough to remain out indefinitely.

Aside from that, glad to hear that the underwater filtration room worked.
op could build survival tubes everywhere like at the northpole and then build some lockers inside and put alot of big water bottles there

Single tube, solar panel, fabricator, medikit maker. Coffee machine, wall locker with blade, Airtank..... maybe a pot in the Corner for a Lantern Tree.
Should be enough redundancy to survive.
