Warper! Seriously! (Possible spoilers)
I don't want to kill anything in the game, I don't like killing but something THAT focused on trying to kill me is asking for it.

This is my experience so far:

- First Warper I used the Moth's defense system. chased it away for long enough to get into a wreck. So, OK, that worked.

- Second Warper is hanging out at 3 ores I want and warps me out of my prawn. I get really annoyed, swim to my base and come back with stasis rifle, repulsion cannon, lots of health, food and water and get warped out of the moth before I can do much. So I try the repulsion cannon. Mehhh! So I use the stasis rifle and freeze it, go into bubble, get in one hit with hot blade and it is gone. So, for the last 2 hrs I've been hanging outside the moth and repeating that action, over and over and over, getting quick refills of air inside the moth between attacks and have no idea if its health is going down or what else I can try. I am definitely striking since there is sparks but I can't get in more than one hit before it teleports.

It has got to the point where I will spend a day if necessary to kill it but there must be better ways. It is at the edge of the NW Mushroom biome so taking in the Cyclops and ramming it is a bit difficult. I have lost my fear of Warpers and now simply wish to deal with the problem once and for all, even if whatever method takes me several days to master so I can return to actually playing the game. I have not had this much trouble with the ghost leviathan or reapers I met.

Respectfully, serious answers only, I'm not in the mood for cute.
Edit: looks like it is actually the border between Mushroom and Blood Kelp, so NE.

If you hit them a few times with the repulsion cannon you can move them far enough away they won't bother you. Sometimes it sends them quite a distance.

You don't need to kill anything in the game.

The best solution to Warper's problem is very spoilery, so I won't tell you what it is and advice you not to look for more information. You'll find out eventually.

But other than that, just avoid them. If they warp you out of your vehicle, rush back into it an get away from the Warper ASAP. They won't one-shot you (as long as your health is not already low) so just get away from them.

I will try that, thanks!

I really don't mind spoilers when it comes to Warpers and seriously don't care if I get killed. That ore is mine!

Works fine for me. I only carry the Propulsion cannon for a few specific tasks, the rest of the time it takes up space.

Does the propulsion cannon work on something that big? Even if I have to follow it and do it again and again until it is deep in the Blood Kelp zone that's worth a try, thanks!

the yellow one, NOT the original.

So a repulsion, not propulsion cannon. I tried that, but apparently not accurately enough. Will try again. At this point I will hug it if it will leave me alone.

Warpers don't become aggressive until certain keypoints in the game. You just have to avoid them for a while if you want to grind stuff up. I don't remember them well, but I think going to Aurora is one and scanning yourself to get level 4 disease is another. You can put off both of these for quite a while.

Yeah, I'm afraid it is too late for that, the lady with the dry voice informed me I'm level 3. It appears to spawn exactly where the ores are with nothing else but a drop-off so I am not sure what exactly it is protecting.

Even if you say youre okay with Spoilers, others (new players) may read this.
That the Warpers hunt you has a fully understandable Reason. A Reason that you will most likely understand, if you continue the Story.
I can assure you its nothing personal, they dont have a Choice.
They retreat for a while, when you hit them, but understand that this is their Patrol route - they will return.

Which is why I marked the post explicitely (Possible spoilers) so someone worried about that have the choice not to read it.

I understand that the Warpers were bio-engineered to kill anything infected with the virus. Even more reason to try to kill it. In the real world it would be a monster likely to wipe out the rest of the ecosystem and therefore should never have been allowed out the laboratory.

you should be able to just smack it with a knife and it would leave at least for long enough to get the ores. No need to kill it, just hit it 2 or 3 times.

I did that over and over again but it persistently respawns a few seconds later. Don't know what it is about me and Warpers, even Reapers back off after getting smacked.

My friend... do you understand your own, written Words?
The Warpers are the one that keep Kharaa-Infections at a Level that Life still can exist on that Planet. They hunt infected individuals to reduce the Risk of spreading.
They are artificial Antibodies. Killing them would cause every Life on the Planet to Perish.
Its a willingly activated Countermeassure in a "at all cost" Doctrine, to keep a Disease under Control, that already killed dozens of billions of Lifeforms on multiple Planets.
Why the Heck would you try to eliminate something, that keeps the Ecosystem alive?
