Four months old time capsules
Most of the time capsules I have seen on the Subnautica site are waiting for a moderation in order to be used. Has the develeoper stopped checking relatively new time capsules?

Even though I am not sure if I should wish more burden onto Ignis. oO

They do. A few of our trusted playtesters and community members are able to check and approve Time Capsules.

They may not care but the community does.

We absolutely care about Time Capsules, and we do continue to approve them. The sheer volume just means that it's not possible to approve everything immediately (and some don't meet approval requirements). It's an entirely manual process.

Four months is a lot sooner than I would have guessed. I figured they stopped adding new ones years ago. Maybe they do it quarterly.

I've been finding these but how do we check age? Are these dropped from players?

I was shocked when I realized these are dropped by other players, it's so perfect XD

The oldest time capsules are from January 2019.

They are still moderated to this day.

Oldest not reviewed capsule from 2019? wow they must be checking at snail pase of 1-2 capsule per month...

A snail, maybe. But it's a bit more than that.

The game was released end of January 2018, so there are eleven months there.
11 + 12 * 5 + 5 months in 2024 = 76 months.
76 * 3 = 228 time capsules.

If I sort the pending time capsules by newest, I see “one day ago” after clicking on “load more three times”, the button adds one hundred time capsules, so to this day there are around 200 - 300 time capsules added per day.

You can estimate pretty accurately the number of time capsules in pending.

But there is no specific person that would approve them all the time. It's more of an extra.

If manual moderation (approval) becomes a big task with the rate of 200-300 capsules a day, I guess someoe has to write a piece of code for an automatic approval of about half a million time capsules :-)
A moderator of this forum has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I love that some of the time capsules are still around from the EA period and have items that are no longer available in the game from other means (the Hardened Knife is the best example). Feels like real treasure when you find something like that.

Also curious, if we assume the time capsules are diegetic, what does Ryley make of them when he finds them? Does the launch of the rocket open up some rift in the current universe that creates a multiverse? And why does the rocket require Ryley to send one anyway? Again, I get why the devs wanted us to do it. but why would an Alterra rocket make that request?

Wow, that's good to know. :D
So then there will be new ones coming up from time to time.
Thanks for sharing that. :)

And thanks for your effort Ignis. :epicool:

This.
Can't wait to hear the PDA again, telling Ryley how much debt he collected. XD

And most of them can be easily filtered out by puting filter in website if they have blacklisted, end game items - system will see it and automatically reject them. If not they get reviewed someday
