Follow the Lost River?
I've been trying to get this achievement. I've been back and forth through the river a bunch of times and nothing. Finally in frustration I googled it and found that you only have to visit the disease research lab and scan all the things. I think I've done that. I've gone back several times. I'm convinced it bugged and I'm not missing anything. I am playing experimental but I've read it should still work. Is there any way to trigger it legitimately? Or would it work if I start a new game, and cheat myself in a Seamoth to go there?

Do you have the console enabled?
Cheating will disable achievements for that session.

I did use the console twice to look for things that fell through terrain but that was many sessions ago, before I even found the Lost River. I've read that enable console automatically resets to off every session but I did just check to make sure it is off.

Edit: I mean "disable console" was ticked.

Here's a thought. In Subnautica, using the console does not permanently disable achievements. But in the new game, Below Zero, it does. Since you are playing the experimental branch, the Devs may have updated that feature to reflect their current thinking and that's why achievements don't work. I don't know where you saw the info on that or how long ago it was, but experimental gets frequent updates so it may have changed. Not totally sure about this but it might explain your problem.

If you start a new game, try going back to the stable branch to get to a seamoth that can go to 900 m using the console, then disable console, save, and see if you can get the achievement.

Yeah, the info wasn't recent. I also can't get the Thermal Activity achievement and I've tried the tricks that worked in the past. I did get Man's Best Friend though.

I'm not ready to start a new game, but maybe I'll see if I can have both stable and experimental versions installed. I could try the achievements there, and also try out some mods that are interesting.
